The full documentary doesn't appear to have been posted on YouTube yet, but can't be too long before someone uploads it.
missed the first half hour, really enjoyed it though. Interesting stuff about the FAI being the representative of the Free State to FIFA, giving the fledgling nation some legitimacy in the eyes of the international community.

on RTE Player now: http://www.rte.ie/player/#!v=1149863
Enjoyed the first episode, I didn't realise that the GAA nearly folded in the early 1890's as fallout from Parnell's affair etc. It was also interesting to note that some of our founding fathers were soccer players which I'll take pleasure in reminding some Gah heads I know.
What I found interesting was there were several moves to unite both associations in the 1920's and that they nearly shook on an agreement in 1932! Who knows what could have been!
''and I for one welcome our new insect overlords''
For anybody who missed it, or didn't know about it like me, I'm delighted to say it's repeated on Saturday at 6pm on RTÉ 2 (before the Champions League Final).
Quite enjoyed it. I found Micháel O Mhuirheairtigh (sp) ...ya him wot commentates on GAA matches -not beetlejuice now -the older chap. I found his comments inciteful and interesting as to how football took off in cities as it was a more condusive street game than the GAA alternatives.
I'd have liked an IFA perspective and thought we might get one when Maloney was shown driving to Belfast. There was a comment by a Northerner alright but I think he was a journalist -and of course there was the chap from UU as well -but they were both essentially neutrals. I'm sure an IFA participant would've argued that Belfast was the natural 'home' of Irish football and in relation to the Irish Cup games that became the tipping point they'd have argued, with whatever merit, that southern grounds and cities simply weren't safe for northern teams.
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"
I thought it was very good.
Even got a little lump in my throat hearing the story of the first full international in Turin.
Was being publicised on You Tube earlier, via Facebook...
For anyone outside of Ireland wishing to view this, keep an eye on haughtyjack's YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/haughtyjack
He uploads a lot of Irish football-related videos and has informed me he'll be uploading 'Green Is the Colour' either tonight or by the time the weekend's out.
Its available in standard and high definition on Irish Torrents, I'm out of invites though.
My Guarantee
Am looking for old Irish matches on VHS, PM me if you have some and I'll upload them here
I also have a few invites for anyone jilted by AF.
I thought it was interesting that at one point the I.F.A were allowed to pick players from the island of Ireland but the F.A.I could only pick players from the republic. How the tables have turned.
can someone please download then re-up somewhere?
The file is available on irish torrents.
Why don't you just learn the process of downloading ptp torrent files?, much more eco friendly and empowering

Is there a way of downloading from private trackers without being a member?
