Then it was a small gift from Lush. A trip to the Museum of Soviet Video Games got some good vibes, and the whole shebang will be rounded off on Tuesday by a nice lunch. I have to as I leave that evening for a 3 day road trip. All in all, I think I'm doing okay. Better than my worst Valentines when I brought an ex to the theatre, followed by dinner and night tour of London. Her skulling herself on a low hanging lintel (make of some type of stone) didn't bode well, nor did the cut on her forehead that couldn't be staunched. 3 hours waiting in hospital, followed by 4 stitches meant that our relationship disappeared. Though I'm pretty sure, all these years later, that she carries a memory of that perfectly planned night. Shame about the execution though!
    What a long-winded attempted murder.

On the subject of V-day. I never do it. In every relationship I've ever been in I make it clear it's a pile of balls and that surely doing nice things throughout the year is better than a night of being in a restaurant full of couples pretending that that's where they want to be.

    I'm single this year.

Nothing better to get you in the mood for the day than having an argument with the missus about how invalid the day itself is, the night before valentines day.
Went to bed in a foul mood and I'm left at half 4 on foot.ie. What a night.

I know I'm a hopeless romantic, but as I said in the say anything thread, they pretty much do. Walk in to any bar on Valentine's Night, give a deep sigh and look sad/lonely and its like you've got a magnet in your pants. The later you wait the easier it gets. The price of a few drinks surely beats the hours of planning/agonizing and wads of cash needed to essentially get the same effect if you're in a relationship. Plus it eliminates the sizable risk of you doing/getting them something stupid and ****ing it all up anyway.

It was almost as long as the wait in casualty. Oddly we kind of broke up a couple of weeks later over some insignificant incident.

Yeah. It doesn't quite work that way at all in Dublin. I'm too broke to head out tonight though I may knock into the local later and have a look-see.

Oh theres that too. "Get off that damn footie site, we're going to be late" is a personal favourite.

Crisis averted though, this smart bas**rd got out of bed early and made breakfast in bed and played it all off as a joke followed by a big surprise. ;P

"Sure I had to make it more surprising for you. Wouldn't have been much of a surprise if you expected me to do something nice".

    Damn I'm good.

This will probably come out far meaner than intended, but I bet you're one of those women (and some men) who buys in to the day way too much and is unbearable to be around for the duration

You would need to seek out the Americans studying abroad or something...the fact they're in a foreign country and alone on Valentine's Day would make it all the easier. Personally, its 9:50 PM and I just got home from class, have a fair amount of reading to do, and am running on reduced sleep so I won't be able to exploit the day myself. Actually, its perhaps somewhat ironic that while I am against being in a relationship on Valentine's Day, the past two I couldn't have done anything anyway as I was working until 11 last year.

Well, romance is alive and well... somewhere, but probably not for Carlton Cole. The BBC lifted this snippet on their football gossip column today:

West Ham striker Carlton Cole has revealed to his Twitter followers his Valentine's Day gifts for his partner - an iron, cleaning products, Oxo cubes and a bottle of champagne.

(http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/) The full story is in the Daily M**l - if you can bring yourself to read that! Somehow I don't think it his largesse would receive the Magicme Seal of Approval.

(Actually, the snippet below this one is about Aston Villa buying Gee - they must have misunderstood Bonnie's 'squadron' post...)
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!

Wormy, I don't. I really am not about the whistles and bells. I loved yesterday because I got back with the man I love and want to spend the rest of my life with. He had spent almost a year messing me around, breaking my heart but it all got sorted and much to my amazement I even got flowers from the worlds biggest commitmentphobe. That's why I loved it. Now going back to bed to cuddle up to him.:-D

Well if that doesn't keep him from taking the Sligo job, nothing will.

Too late, and now hard to explain. Note to self, should not divulge details of Valentines day on foot.ie. Leave it in the head.
