    Our Euro 2012 Song Effort

What everyone think of this for Irelands new song for June ??

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8XGmDtGPfg

Myself and three mates wrote and song this and recorded it on a laptop in Melbourne. Four of us are huge Irish fans so tried to make a tune that Irish fans would enjoy and be able to sing along to and threw in a reference to joxer and give it a lash jack.. Looking at recording a better quality version down the line with a proper video,..Any thoughts from the foot.ie faithful?

There's no doubt that our songs are stale. We even had "Oh, ah Paul McGrath" last Tuesday.

Nice one apart from mentioning Dunphy Might be copyright issues though with the tune.

Football songs have to be short and snappy- the rest is forgotton. "......it's been 24 years now we're heading back to the Euros, Euros, we're going to win the Euros" is a good catch line.

See if you can get on the Late Late
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

    Wink

Yeah good shout on the Copyright Issues pal. We are not trying to make any money on this though and if any money was made we would just bounce it in the direction of Irish Cancer Society. To be honest we just really wanted to come up with a decent Irish tune and the whole 24 years worked out pretty good.

Sorry about upsetting the Dunphy Fans :-)

Well done on that. Myself and a few lads have written a couple of songs for the euros, which will be recorded properly in the next couple of weeks. They're a bit more Tongue in cheek. One is called We All Get Nil Together, and the other is called Mentality.

Will post them up here as soon as they're recorded. They're a bit of fun, and because of the nature of them will never be the official song. We'd be just hoping to raise a few smiles from the fans.

A couple more instruments for this song and it'll be the number 1 in the summer.

great tune as said a few more instruments will be very popular.. It will be interesting to see what new songs will be belting out in Poland next summer.. always thought something choral like the raithlin bog would go down well in the singing section in the aviva.. an irish effort to the we love you Pauli song..

Thanks for all the comments. Definately going to look at different instruments options for the future.

We do have updated the version with some new lyrics (we now know who we are playing!) which can be heard at http://www.facebook.com/24years and http://www.reverbnation.com/theartisticdifferences

Did I just have a horrible nightmare at the time or did the wolfe tones or someone have a dirge that went "sayonnara connemara..." back in 2002? googled it and came up blank.
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"

That particular 'Gem' was by the allies and was from the 'Here come the good times' cd which came out before Japan and Korea.

In fairness there were some good tracks on the it as seen below
