Gary Deegan injured as Coventry City beat Leamington

Deegan's only appearance last season was in the final game at Norwich
Coventry City beat neighbours Leamington 2-1 at the New Windmill but it came at a cost, with midfielder Gary Deegan limping off with a thigh injury.

The Irishman, who made one substitute appearance last season, managed just 43 minutes on Wednesday night.

Callum Wilson and Josh Ruffels scored for Coventry while Tom Berwick slotted home from the penalty spot for Brakes.

Among the City players given a 90-minute run-out were Roy O'Donovan, Nathan Cameron and James McPake.

[edit] Coventry City F.C.On July 27th 2011, Brennan was apart of the starting XI for Coventry City F.C. which played a pre-season game against local non-league side Leamington F.C.. It is understood Brennan is on a trial basis at the club and is being assessed.

Jon Walters just scored for Stoke in the Europa League, cross came in from the left, Walters was unmarked at the far post and picked his spot with a header...I don't think he even jumped

Adam Rooney scored for Birmingham in their 2-1 loss to Everton

James Berrett scored twice for Carlisle in their 3-1 win over Bradford

Stephen Hunt scored for Wolves in their 2-1 win over Ipswich

...and the slate gets wiped clean as the season starts next Saturday

Jon Daly scored the only goal as Dundee United beat Hearts, though that match actually counted

Has the potential to be a very good Championship player at worst, just needs to stay healthy and be smart off the pitch.

Stephen Elliott hobbled off injured after about a quarter hour in Hearts' Europa League match today. Seems he had treatment, came back on, and couldn't continue so it doesn't seem that its too bad.

Also has Stephen Carr as the key man for Birmingham, Long/Hunt for Reading, and praises Robbie Brady, and Joe Murphy.

Mark Yeates also scored for Burnley. Daly and Hayes in Scotland, and Byrne and Collins in L2.
