What have you won or what is your claim to fame?

This is one I often do at dinner parties or even around a table of strangers. It's amazing what comes out. At one Table we discovered a world record speed holder for single prop planes and a Miss Dairy Queen 1980 something.

I have a fair few cricket league winners medals, runner up at the school's table tennis competition and got as far as No. 2 in the World at online Axis & Allies. Now dropped to No. 18
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

    I did a Peel session. :-D

I was a festival queen when I was 16 and modeled from age 8 to 18.

I set up the amnesty international group in school.

I was first female live football commentator in Ireland at our cup final last year.

I won an award for my anti racism work at mons.

Was shortlisted for press officer of the year my first year in the job....all downhill from there!

I ran with kip keanu (sp?) To light the torch at the world veteran games in Oregon.

I wore John Tracy's Olympic medal. I held Barry McGuigans world champ belt.

I'm great oh and extremely shy and modest about my achievements and claims to fame.

I have nothing aside from some very minor sporting accomplishments...unless being world's biggest David Connolly fan counts? Even then I'm sure his family are bigger fans (well, maybe)

I attended and sang at the first Karaoke gig in a pub in Ireland.
I had a table booked in the restaurant in the Twin Towers after it was hit.
I got the first ever infraction on foot (It was only a test one but even so).

All-Ireland Pioneer U-15 table quiz (a remarkable achievement with 2 teenage alcoholics on the team). We won the Connaught U-25 title the following year, beating even seasoned university drinkers/thinkers.

Irish Times Young Historian of the Year – yup, even today it just screams nerd.

Fencing Intervarsities and Colours v UCD– very proud of those, because I was diabolically bad at every sport I’d ever tried before fencing! Or since, for that matter.

Junior Chamber Ireland public speaking champion. Got a free holiday to the European finals in Greece out of that... 37C in the afternoon, and me wearing a tux. Sweatin' for Ireland. Top three went to the World final in South Korea. South Korea is still on my list of places to see...

And in recent years, nothing. Zip. Diddly-squat. Not even as much as a free scratchcard from the Lottery...

Is it weird that out of everything mentioned so far, this is the one that I'm most envious of?

If it's any consolation, that was the same year some muppet correcting Leaving Cert history papers gave me a D.

FFS, the IT project was my special question!!!!

Starting Chapter 8 of my PhD in history today: but that D will haunt me to the grave.

D in history? Can you remember what topic you screwed up on. The Punic Wars - perhaps you were engaged in public wars at the time and lost concentration?

I've only ever screwed up once in my life....

    I thought I'd made a mistake.
