Beneath the City - The New York No One Ever Sees

Thought this was a really good watch, might not be to everyones taste!

Armed with gloves, a backpack, and a healthy appreciation for the deadliness of the third rail, urban historian Steven Duncan and videographer Andrew Wonder explore the Undercity. This is the hidden New York. And it's beautiful.

Wonder shot the compilation of urban explorations—appropriately titled Undercity—on a Canon 5d Mark II. The journeys range from sewer to subway to Williamsburg Bridge, and give a look at the world that's happening underneath our feet, unbeknown to us, every single day. Duncan's made a mission out of these journeys, collecting his photographs and videos at Undercity.org.

What's exciting is that every city has its own secret history, sealed underground, untapped and waiting to be explored. Let's hope Wonder and Duncan decide to take their show on (and below) the road.

there was a documentary about the inhabitants of the NYC underground, aired back in the late 80's/early 90's. Superb.

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Truly a dark and filthy place where one expects only to find the lowest form of humanity living amongst the rats...and the underground doesn't look too great either.

I thought it was called undercity?! you know its the camera man i always feel sorry for. The presenters get all the glory, but the real glory is with the camera man.

I'm not afraid of heights, as its always easy get up somewhere, getting down is the hard part, but climbing that bridge wouldn't be my cup of tea even though the structures are quite wide. What i would be more scared of is wondering around parks and bridges of new york at 1:00 am and 3.30 am
