Cook been linked with vacant Burnley post

Hi sligo fans I was just wondering what ye made of the story in todays sun newspaper that Paul Cook is on a shortlist 4 the burnley job.

The Sun Newspaper bit kinda blew this out of the water. Billy Davies is getting that job unless Forest come up with cash for players.

I don't think it will happen myself but if I did the only good thing to come out of it for Sligo would be the compensation they would recieve because cook as you said has just signed a new two year contract with the option of a third

Not a chance he'll go to them. Needs a few more years here and maybe a league title or two to get a job that big.

I think the main reason he has been linked with this job is because he is a former burnley player 99-03

Yeah, Cook is shortlisted for Stockport -- I would think he would like to have another season in Ireland, hopefully secure a bit of silverware, establish/confirm his position as best manager in LOI and look for a job across the water in 2012.

Who knows! Hope he stays on for 2011 season. Whatever he does wish him best of success.

Silver lining? Only that Danny Ventre might be part of any new deal and say farewell to Showgies.
