That is very weak. High chance I'll be out for the first game of the season against UCD, and probably most Drogs home games where we're playing away on a Saturday.

And I think a couple of others from the A team last year.
Cillian Morrison no harm to the lad but is not up to that standard, he wouldnt get a game for most teams in Division 1, he is not hard enough basically a passenger.

Of course its weak. We're working off a first division budget. And a small first division budget at that!

I'd imagine the three today are our final signings so the 21 man Shamrock Rovers squad for 2011 will be:

    Goalkeepers
    Alan Mannus
    Ryan Thompson (some US team)

    Defenders
    Pat Sullivan
    Enda Stevens
    Ken Oman (Bohemians)
    Craig Sives
    Dan Murray
    Conor McCormack (Triestina)
    Pat Flynn

    Midfielders
    Ste O'Donnell (Galway)
    Stephen Rice
    Gary McCabe (Sligo Rovers)
    Paddy Kavanagh
    Billy Dennehy
    Ronan Finn (Sporting Fingal)
    Chris Turner

    Strikers
    Gary Twigg
    Karl Shepperd (Galway United)
    Dean Kelly (Oldham Athletic)
    Ciarán Kilduff (UCD)
    Gary O'Neill (Sporting Fingal)

    Players not returning are:
    Aidan Price
    Roberty Bayly
    Neal Fenn
    Dessie Baker
    Thomas Stewart
    Pat Jennings
    Stephen Bradley
    Sean O'Connor
    Graham Barrett
    Danny Murphy

I'm sure I'm forgetting someone in either the current squad or released players, but I make it 10 in and 10 released.

Although I'm biased, that's one of the best LoI squads on paper I can remember. Quality and cover in every single department.

No doubt Shamrock Rovers have assembled a serious squad.

Anything less then 10 points from the opening 3 fixtures (Dundalk, Sligo and Pats) and MON should resign

Does that mean David Sheppard, Ciaran Foley,Ger Cheevers, David Butterfield & Rhys Meynell have been released from the Galway Squad then gufc2000? And if so, then have they signed for anyone recently?

David Sheppard- contract not renewed, don't know where he has gone
Ciaran Foley- had an operation over the winter, ruled out til June/July. He may re-join the squad then
Ger Cheevers- think he has signed for our A Team/U-19 team
David Butterfield- Haven't a clue about him
Rhys Meynell- there were registration problems, cannot sign until June at the earliest. He may sign then, but I wouldn't be so sure

Both Sean Kelly (former GUFC, Limerick, Cork player) and Shaun Kelly (former Dundalk) have signed up.

Yes, Duffy is from Sligo, don't know anything about him apart from being a defender though.

Eduardo is a midfielder, I presume he's Brazilian. He'll be mainly with our A team aswell I think

There is 2 Eduardo's at Galway,

    Eduardo Lacerda - 02/03/1992
Eduardo Dusi Alvim Silveira Cordeiro (Dudu) - 13/10/1989

Yes, it appears to be the same Keith Duffy.
