Lucky not to have had his leg/ankle broken today by David Luiz. I was hoping he might clock John Terry in the aftermath of it but there was just pushing and shoving...

Ruled out of the Greece game - no replacement called. You'd have to think Shane Long will be very disappointed when he's given a spot on the bench.

Goal Walters. Corner from the right taken low, Walters making a run across the 18 yard box, roughly 12 yards out, meets it and smashes it in at the near post.

excellent analysis of the goal by Neville at half time, went through each Stoke player in the box, how they were set up, their responsibilities and actions that led to the goal
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

Goal Walters. Long throw from near the half line, Walters flicks it over his head in to the corner for Jerome. Jerome cuts it back on to his left foot and crosses it in the box. Walters, following up after his flick on, meets it about seven yards out at the near post and flicks it in at the far post with a glancing header.

I did see it, although his 'following up' was more a leisurely stroll into the box,
the lack of urgency my explain why nobody picked him up

Bit belated, but a video of the goal and analysis here:

    Worth a watch.

He does it quite a lot for Stoke. Amazing how many times the defender hares on ahead only to look dopily around as the cut-back comes in to an unmarked Walters.

Not to mention the much maligned Whelan's part in the goal.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

Was a well worked goal, similar to something in American football, but I think there was an illegal block on Walter's marker,
but one which would be hard to spot in the confusion

Anyone who questions Whelans ability, just take a look at the pinpoint precision pass. Fantastic.

Gary Neville "I loved it, I absolutely loved it"

In English football, that use to qualify as a mental breakdown.

Goal Walters. Long ball, Jones flicks on, Skrtel slips, and Walter is all alone with Reina. Takes a touch and picks his spot with ease. 1-1.

Goal Walters! Long throw, Jones heads to Walters, takes it on his chest and lobs it past Reina with his next touch...great goal.

I think it was Whelan who provided the assist(corner) for the non-Walters (Kenwin Jones) goal.

    Highlights here:

Walters first is at 1:19. Whelan took the corner that assisted Stoke's second at 2:07. Walters' second is at 3:00.
