Forest need to ditch Cotterill asap. League 1 beckons again.
I hear Leeds have sacked Grayson. Harsh. Warnock I suppose in line or dare I say Roy Keane.

You'll NEVER beat the Irish.......you'll just draw with us instead!!!
Have a real soft spot for Barnet, so am hoping they can progress to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final. I know most will scoff but for a club with little money it would be a massive day out and against the comparative riches of Swindon a nice underdog story.

Neil Warnock reckons - “It wasn’t a time for bo**ocking the players after the game.”
I take it such times are reserved for nights when Leeds concede at least 8 or more at home then?![]()

Sometimes one can get such a boost following a team, be it big or small. Last night it was the turn of Chelsea fans. A friend told me the odds on that result when Barca were leading 2-0 was 900-1. Hence the eternal attraction of the game.
One of my few moments was last weekend. Blades and Owls fighting out for automatic promotion spot in Division One. Owls have a history of conceding last minute goals (who will forget Brian Kidd on his two knees on the pitch at Old T when Man U scored the last minute winner all those years ago against...Wednesday). They were also leading Huddersfield 4-2 and drew 4-4 this season, conceding in the 6th minute of injury time! The list is endless.
So Blades 4 points ahead this Saturday but tricky away game against MK Dons and Owls at home to their bogey side, Carlisle. Possibility of getting gap down to one point. Things going well as I still in front of Sky. Owls winning (1-0). Blades losing (Alan Smith once of Man U scores for MK Dons). Adds on Sky in the 80th minute so I go to BBC. Why oh why? Carlisle equalise in 82 minute. Wife leaves the room as she doesn't like to hear me cursing and swearing at Gabby Yorath. Back to Sky.
All the results come in in dribs and drabs. "Please please score". Only one result out of them all still left. Jeff Stelling says there has been a goal at Hillsboro and.....

Such a buzz. Such pure joy at a game in England which would have no significance to 99.999999% of Irish people.
God, how I love football even though most of the time it kicks me in the teeth as it will probably do against Brentford this weekend. For the moment, I'll enjoy it.

And you know what, even going to a game is better! Can you imagine that![]()
Oh indeed but sometimes not. Wednesday had won their first 6 games at home so I went to see the 7th (against Brentford). A turgid 0-0.
On the Championship front, it is interesting that for the second season in the row a team may may bounce from Div 1 to the Premiership (Norwich and now possibly Soton). Although I have a soft spot for Leeds, not displeased that Warnock hasn't made much of a fist of it so far. Coventry say hello to Division One for the fist time since the 1960s and Forest, who looked doomed a while ago, are now safe.

Didn't think a Sheffied Wednesday fan would ever have a soft spot for Leeds.
Yeah, fair play. Liverpool and United supporters from these parts calling each other Mancs and Scousers, etc. in cringing to say the least. They really don't see it though. And, like your situation, Liverpool fans here hating Everton and United fans hating City (until recently) is pretty sad also.
That will be a great occasion on Saturday, having been in thrid spot for so long. Stevenage did ye a huge favour at the weekend. Can't see Wednesday slipping up now.
I would travel a lot with a crew to games and we regard ourselves as supporters. The people you mention that regard themselves as Scousers and Mancs are they people you see watching games in the pubs or in the workplace? Strange carry on for people to regard themselves from cities that they ain't from.
Lets talk about six baby
Well spotted. They were 5 points behind at one stage with Sheff U having a game in hand as well. And they say comebacks only happen in Division One (Premiership). Happens in Division 3 (One) as well. Much down to Dave Jones for the unbeaten run.
Every possibility they could slip up against Wycombe (Gary Waddock the manager) because it's football but when they equalised in the last minute against Walsall, I said to myself that might be a vital point.
Going with the missus and a young cousin (a Man U fan) and meeting up with an English Newcastle fan who wants to see how Niall Ranger is getting along (on loan from them). Strange, the Owls only major honour in my lifetime was the 1991 League Cup yet you have to go back to 1969 for Newcastle for the Inter City Fairs Cup. Whatever about Wednesday, the latter is a club which hugely underperforms considering the support.

Hope it goes yeer way today Owlsfan. Yorkshire derbys to look forward to next season...

Also on Soccer Saturday yesterday morning Stelling mentioned Hartelpool's smurfs

My favorite is how they dressed up as Smurfs, Oompa Loompas...and Mexicans![]()

I think Di Canio should stick to football management. Next Wednesday manager perhaps?
Enjoyable day. Surprisingly without huge tension as Gary Waddock's Wycombe were poor enough. Keith Tracey played well (on loan from Burnley) but suffers from the Andy Reid over eating syndrome (by his own admission). Possibily the highest crowd ever in Division One not involving a Sheffield derby although perhaps Leeds beat it during their stay there.
So far nothing to fear coming down from the Premiership in the form of Wolves and Blackburn (very poor last night). Think I would prefer Bolton rather than QPR who have money to also be relegated although I don't like Mark Hughes.

I was at the Crewe v Cheltenham playoff final at Wembley yesterday, one of the best games of football I've seen in a long time. And a superb goal from Nick Powell to start it rolling.

I wonder could they end the Championship season now?
