    Trap in Hospital

ROI boss Giovanni Trapattoni was hospitalized after apparently eating bad shellfish in his native Italy before arriving in Ireland on sunday.
Marco Tardelli will run the Irish show vs Argentina if Trap is not well enough to manage.
Trap was supposed to watch the U-21s vs Estonia on Tuesday but may not now that he is hospitalized. Sources said he could possibly watch on TV.

I think he meant the U21 game, which I presume will be recorded by the FAI even if it's not broadcast anywhere.

I've heard of players "not doing friendlies" - I just hope our manager isn't taking the same approach!

Dr. Alan Byrne is earning his money from these friendlies.

According to Radio 1 news, he's being kept in for more tests. Seems his condition didn't improve as expected overnight, so the consultant wants to do an x-ray as well. Looks like he'll miss the game tonight.

Giovanni Trapattoni continues to have abdominal pain. Following the results of further investigation, and consultation with his surgeon, it has been decided that the abdominal pain is as a result of minor scar tissue from previous surgery. 'To relieve the pain, he will undergo minor surgery at 3.00pm today.
    Get well soon Giovanni Trapattoni

hmm that would mean only a 10 days or so before they would head out to armenia......i really do hope this adhesion dosen't cause recurring problems but for a man of his age it could well do.
