Been up the walls with work and a wedding yesterday. I've been updating the site regularly, but I can't find time to write up the summaries
Did you forget to add Sheridans game last sunday ?
I re-sent it to you.
I typed:
'22' in the first box
'08' in the second
'2010' in the third
??
hmmm, that's odd, it's being sent with the month set as 9. I'll investigate
<EDIT>
think I have it fixed now, stupid zero-based month system (i.e. 0=january, 1=february, 2=march, etc)
Sorry about that Boss, my bad
Irish Abroad for Saturday, 28th August 2010: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Game...ate=2010-08-28
Kevin Doyle picked up his first booking of the season
Mark O'Brien made his first appearance, as an unused sub for Derby
Ben Burgess scored his first goal of the season
Irish Abroad for Sunday, 29th August 2010: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Game...ate=2010-08-29
Daryl Murphy scored a penalty on his first start for Celtic
Cillian Sheridan scored his first goal for CSKA Sofia
Seamus Coleman made his first appearance of the season for Everton as a second half substitute
I've added back in the links section - http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Links - and as promised TheBoss and irishfan86 are listed as contributors
There's no games for the Premiership, SPL and Championship clubs this month, so I'll compile the August stats tomorrow, and archive off the stats for last season
By default, I don't include clubs outside those 3 leagues, so should I include Sheridan and McGeady in the monthly stats?
Tets gets an honourable reference in today’s Indo, but with a “must try harder” footnote
Anoraks of a particular persuasion can chart the progress of any Irish-qualified individuals on the various rungs of the UK football ladder. But they missed the man with the cliche-inducing surname, and a distinctly Irish complexion.

I didn't hear any member of the 4th estate calling for his inclusion at any stage?
Irish Abroad Statistics for August 2010: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/MonthlyStats
David Norris won 5 games to reflect Ipswich's strong start to the Championship season, scoring 4 goals to also top the goalscorers table with Adam Rooney, and picking up 4 bookings along the way
Ipswich won 2 and drew 1 of these games, while Inverness Caledonian Thistle won both games that Rooney scored in
Damien Duff drew 3 games in August
Darren Randolph is the unfortunate owner of the most losses in August, although this does include 2 losses in the Europa League preliminary rounds
Thanks to these extra European games, Randolph is also joint top of the most starts table, with 6, along with Paddy McCarthy, Wes Hoolahan, Marc Wilson and David Norris
Of these only Randolph, Norris and Wilson completed 90 minutes in every game.
Along with starting the most games, Wes Hoolahan was the most substituted player in August, the Norwich winger was withdrawn from the action 4 times
Conversely Ronan Murray was the most introduced substitute. The Ipswich Town player came off the bench 4 times
Unsurprisingly, two goalkeepers top the most unused substitute table, Shay Given and Saul Deeney both remained on the bench 5 times
I've added in some facebook and twitter (they're the latest thing!) buttons to attract more attention to the site using social networking
Damien Delaney played for Ipswich reserves yesterday http://www.itfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetai...148029,00.html

Following Padraig Amond's transfer to Portugal, and Barry Maguire's recent declaration that he wants to play for Ireland, I'm looking for a volunteer to track both player's progress in the Portuguese and Dutch leagues respectively, for the Irish Abroad site, similar to what irishfan86 and The Boss are doing for me with McGeady and Sheridan.
It takes about 5 minutes, and involves filling out a short form on the site about the game itself, and if the player in question played or not.
If nobody volunteers by the end of the day, I'll offer it to ybig.ie
Hogan Ephraim scores for QPR.
penalties for both Shane Long and Ian Harte for Reading.
assists for Anthony Stokes and Daryl Murphy for Celtics goals today.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
I spoke to him yesterday after the game and he basically said that at the moment he isn't thinking too much about his international career, he just signed a one-year contract extension at QPR and under Warnock he looks a much, much better player.
His mother is Irish and he qualifies for Nigeria through his Dad and obviously played for England at youth level. He said if he can keep up his good form and QPR keep winning he will see what happens with regards international football.
threw this together this afternoon: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/GameDayStats
If anyone's watching New York Red Bulls v Colorado Rapids on Setanta right now, Wicklow man Danny Earls was an unused sub. He was a regular starter until recently losing his form and dropping to the bench.
