(here goes...) We already are the biggest club in Munster!! Doubt we'll get any major crowds IF we go up. 372 at an important game against Harps last week (Saturday night, loads of excuses). I'd say IF we went up, we'd average over 1000 per match. The last time we were promoted under Jimmy McGeough (2003), we already had good crowds in the First and were getting about 2000 in the Premier. I don't think we'd match that now.
Harps last 3 attendances:
Cork (2) - 474
Athlone (2) - 491
Wexford (2) - 490
Not bad considering it's one of the worst season's in the clubs history.

Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!
Harps always have a good support when they are in the Premier.
If I remember correctly they always had the guts of 2000 the last time they were up in a not too spectacular season.

The first Division probably is a bit of a stale Division. Club's have languished there before going nowhere. If it was the second tier on a pyramid structure, it could be a more livelier league like many second tiers tend to be. Could happen within current structures as well if the A Championship gains more of a status.
Changed economic circumstances?
Robbie Hedderman. Arguably the greatest Derry City player of all time...

Wouldn't have believed the crowd myself tbh but a few people said it....... I dunno, I wasn't there!
I meant more they would probably have the financial clout (for want of a better term) if they felt like it rather than the actual standard they are at now, although no one will tell me Pike are much worse as it stands than Salthill!!
And Tony, they would have less interest in joining the League of Ireland than Real Madrid would (all this talk on here of pyramid systems baffles me tbh.)
1082 in Terryland tonight, mainly thanks to a large Bohs contingent. There must have been 500/600 of them
DundalkFC live updates on Facebook say:
And is on the nail imo.Dundalk FC Direct from Oriel Park 2123: Estimated attendance here 1,350.
