French Allocation for Croke Park on sale

Lads,

The FFF have announced that the french allocation for the match at croker are going to go on general sale tomorrow over here from 12:00.

Is there any point in the Irish over here who will be attending the match buying some of these?

It says entry to the Hill will be refused to non-French supporters, but is it worth buying up some of their allocation to swap with French Fans who have tickets in the Irish End???

Just a thought, just want people's thoughts on what I should do? (I am based in Paris at the moment, but am coming over for the home game).

I don't think it would be a nice or sporting thing to do for Irish people to buy the French allocation tickets. Let French fans buy French tickets. There will be enough Irish supporters in the rest of the ground.

I had french end tickets for the last game at LR. There was a decent few Irish mixed in with the french support. Needless to say it was painful after the Henry goal.

How would they determine whether one is a French supporter or not? I have a Canadian Passport (and an Irish one) if I use that as ID could they deny me entry?

There are a lot of the French tickets for sale on the French ebay site and the UK and Ireland one at the usual high prices for that scenario.

You wont be asked for ID. If you have a ticket you'll get in, end of story.

it won't be a question of ID, the "how can you tell a french fan from an ireland fan?" would be, one will be covered in green clothing, the other may or may not wear a french replica football top.

just i know some lads who don't have tickets, and am wondering whether to buy them tickets in the french end, then maybe swap? or, if all else fails, watch the game with the frenchies??

I'd say catch on to yourself. We need all the support we can get.
The French were only too willing to sell their allocation outside the ground in Lansdowne in 2005, I know as I bought one, as did my two mates. If they lose out to us again, I say toughsies.

try and put em up on ebay and ask for a crazy price like 500 each and see how they like it.

Ebay is flooded with tickets for the game in Paris and they think they can make a nice easy buck out of us. I hope they don't sell 1 ticket and have to go to the game themselves or even sell them for less than the asking price!!!

Thats the likely scenario IMO - The demand from us for tickets in Paris will not far outwiegh the allocation we have got (If at all). If any fans dont have tickets I think it will be a small number and no way will there be the demand required to result in paying over the odds.

There seems to be no problem over here with non-French people buying tickets. The 'catch' is that you buy your tickets in the store, show your ID and give your address in France where the tickets (up to 4) will be sent.
You can't actually get your hands on the tickets in-store.

Il hazard a guess- these tickets are in the exclusive reserved area for the french. All other people who do not smell of garlic will be refused entry.

I cant see how they can enforce that unless you are wearing an actual Ireland top - even then I would doubt they would stop people from getting in. Who can tell who is French and who is Irish if noone says anything ?

If in doubt just mumble French phrases at the gate like, "Je suis Francais, je viens de Calais et je suis boulanger. Je m'appelle Jean-Phillipe, alors je suis desole mais j'ai oublie mon passporte a ma chambre, c'est dans l'auberge / dans mon voiture...."

Any news on where they are being sold ? Is it the FNAC shops again ?
