Mick: I'd Come Back - But Not Right Now

"I have a word for the players who don’t turn up but you can’t print it," declared the Wolves boss. "They are bang out of order. It is just wrong. I am not bothered what their reason is. "I’m not having it and as a manager, I wouldn’t have it."

And Deadspin's usual crazy take on things. Caution, will bring up bad memories. Just never thought I would see a story on Mick on Deadspin.

into the last few minutes at Ewood Park. What odds an equaliser for Blackburn??
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

    Players
Hennessey - Looks suspect on crosses today, 1 brilliant save, should have done better with the goal
Stearman - Annoyed me today with a pointless dive when on the attack. I hope he is fined for that. Looked like our weak point in the first half
Johnson - Unlucky with the goal, as it smashed Roberts in the face. Overall a solid debut and he is happy to play through the pain as well
Berra - Partly at fault for the goal, although Roberts did give him a sly push in the air as he went for the header.
Ward - Again, another solid performance at both left back and left side of midfield. Brilliant finish from 16 yards
Hunt - Tireless performance, carrying on where he left off.O'Hara - Couple of shots wide from decent positions. Always looked to go forward
Henry - Quiet game for me. Which isn't a bad thing. Couple of needless free kicks given away but if his job is just to sit back and let O'Hara set the tempo, then he wil do ok this season
Jarvis - Won the penalty and set the goal up. Decent day for Jarvis indeed
Doyle - Same old, tireless effort but a crap penalty
Fletcher - Again the work rate was immense, great finish and some good link up play with the midfield

    Subs
Foley (for Stearman) - Should start next week. Excellent when he came on.

Having watched Villa today MM should have broken the bank to sign Shay. Would have been worth an extra 7 or 8 points over a season to Wolves.

    Great quote from Mick today:

Reporter: "Mick, how big a player will Matt Jarvis be for Wolves this season?"

Mick McCarthy: "About 5 foot 8, same as last season"
"There's man all over for you, blaming on his boots the fault of his feet" - Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot

Trap and Tardelli in attendance for the game at Villa Park (Capello too).

Stephen Ward having an excellent game. Dunne has Doyle 'in his pocket' so far. Shay made one black save from a Hunt header. Otherwise a crap game and to make things worse McManaman is co commentator.

Ward won't have done his chances any harm at all.

Obviously a lot of Irish players there but still shocking to see this. Could've been looking at O'Hara I suppose...who knows, maybe a certain bald-headed **** who missed a couple of sitters in Villa's Carling Cup match on Tuesday was looking for a way to get a game too.

Where do you reckon they would of gone for 3 o'clock? Personally I hope he went to Derby-Burnley. (1 hour away)

I doubt they went to two matches, they have enough trouble making it to one. Of course I would hope they went to Leicester (though I doubt it)

Probably right about the Derby game and I expect both will be at the Stoke v West Brom game tomorrow.

Someone on twitter said Tardelli was at Chelsea-Norwich, but I highly doubt it. Be quite a bit to travel.

Trap was supposedly at the Hawthorns today for WBA-Stoke. I watched the second half and it was pretty dire stuff...seeing as that was the report on the Wolves match yesterday as well, maybe its a good thing Trap doesn't go to more matches.

In hindsight, you might wonder what all the fuss was about a few years ago. Karma eh?!?

I wasn't sure what you meant either, were you expressing shock, to see them attend a game, or were you using the pejorative, saying that it was shocking behaviour. I figured it out though.
