I was always convinced it was Robbies goal. After hearing about Hunt claiming the goal, I watched the goal over and over and it is too hard to tell, there is definitely nothing there to say Hunt got the last touch. I know that if I had scored that I would have gone crazy and ran over to the supporters, not after my captain lol

Thanks again Irishfan. I was at the game so didn't hear Dunphy's words of wisdom...

on the subject of Eamo I think his attacks on Trappatoni are disgraceful(I think Dunphy sometimes talks sense). We have just drawn with the World Champions at a very difficult away venue. We are in a very strong position to qualify(even if its in a play-off). People should cast their minds back to when we had that genius Staunton in charge. I wonder how the table would look if he were?

You can download the goal in slow motion here: http://tetsujin1979.googlepages.com/...aneVSItaly.mpg
It's only a few second long, I'd recommend using the slow motion option in VLC to view it
How do you do slow option VLC? All I could seem to do was pause or slow the speed. I tried it in another player Intervideo WinDVD which has a frame by frame advance, well at least I thought it had, but the frame you posted does not see to be available in Intervideo WinDVD!
I got the latest VLC but it I could not find a slow motoion option.

It seems to me the ball starts to change direction a microsecond before Keane's boot would have made contact.

taking it too far now in my opinion - or alternatively lodge an appeal and do it quietly.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

No but calling the guy a joke and a pikey is just plain silly , saying that it doesnt matter because its a team game is ridiculous , just trying to level the playing field.

yeah, all you can really do is use the slow controls, because of the way VLC is coded, there's no frame advance option for it
Media Player Classic has the option alright, but it's only in one direction only

I've put two replays side by side and slowed them down, perhaps it will help perhaps not, I've thought it was Keane's goal the whole time

2 ways of looking at it. Personally I couldn't care less who gets the goal officially, but for you to be calling Hunt a joke and a whiny b!tch over this makes you look like a true idiot.

In fairness, this reminds me of a child on the school playground arguing over who got the last touch on a ball that went in the goal. Who really cares? In my personal opinion, this makes Noel Hunt look like an immature amateur. Just my two cents, that's all. You're all entitled to your own opinions too.

The trend on this forum to rush to criticise those who are playing for our country is beyond me. Sad.

It is more of an own goal than Hunt's goal. It's Keane's. Is this an April Fool's joke that didn't get out in time

If Noel Hunt wanted a goal he should've finished off that corner that went through his legs

For what it's worth I was just a few yards away and my initial belief it was Hunt or an Italian OG, it happened that fast.

I'd rather our first choice striker got the confidence tbh and that goal will lift a huge weight off Keane's shoulders with people commenting on his goal drought against the top teams.

and btw, unlike every other county in Ireland, most Dublin people don't tend to care whether our players are from Dublin, Cork or Donegal.

Whatever happens, I hope it is resolved quickly, amicably, and preferably quietly.

I dont really care either! Mind you...great to see Hunt out there. Really pleased for him. Not long since he was making his debut for Shamrock Rovers and I saw his uncle or father or someone mouthing encouragement to him from behind the goal! Great he had his chance and brilliant when he went for Zambrotta!
