I took a sconse but couldn't find anything. That FAI website is brutal, surely that kind of information should be available there.

Soccerscene.ie has a list of results

I think Sean McCaffrey may have managed a couple of games during Givens tenure.

The stats mightn't prove anything. At one stage they were on a record unbeaten run of 12 or 13 games when the likes of Elliott and Paddy McCarthy were in the team. Since that run ended we've been brutal though.

Can it easily be said that he is the worst U21 manager in the history of Irish football? I think it could be but i wouldn't want to do the guy an injustice. A list of his record would make interesting reading.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

I dont think Maurice Setters had a great record as a U21 manager either. It doesnt seem to be a job that the FAI take seriously. I would love us to employ an up and coming young manager that has ambitions to one day be the senior manager, something like England have done with Stuart Pearse. Someone like Kenny Cunningham if he had ambitions to be a manager would be ideal in my opinion
    Its really not that complicated!!!

Agreed, giving the job to Givens first day and then leaving him in the position when Ireland and his mother could see he was brutal are two reasons that confirm that point as well. Just a job for the boys it seems.

If he had us controlling games like the 2 against England last year then I wouldn't care too much about results. It's the rubbish performances like the one in Montenegro that's the problem.

The guy is a complete and utter disaster and adds nothing to the game. Its pure and simple 'a job for one of the boys'. We are cursed that he even went near the job.

Scott Davies has been called into the U21 squad and travelled to Cork today (not sure who he has replaced). Hope he gets a run, he's a class player.
Players lose you games, not tactics. There's so much crap talked about tactics by people who barely know how to win at dominoes. Brian Clough

wouldnt it have been better to test him out as u21 manager first rather than making the Seniors his first job in management

If they'd thought about that route, they'd probably have promoted Don Givens to the senior job at the time. Count your blessings.

I just got a text from a mate saying that Don Givens has told Keith Treacy that he will never play for him again. Im out of the country and I cant find anything online about it so just wondering what the source is and what the reasons are? How many young players does this fella have to fall out with before the FAI realise he is a dinosaur and cant deal with young lads today

    Here Here!

Theres a few players in the Championship sufering because of similar uncalled for vendettas.

When will this idiot realise that it's the players clubs who don't allow or want their players to play in certain game and at key stages of the season.

He's becoming a law unto himself!
