Only 2 weeks before the satart of the season?
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
What an absolute joke if that's true.

They still have that damn mid-season break. Grr.
Thats 2 weeks before the start of the season as has been pointed out. However if club(s) fail in their Licence application which probably will happen and appeal it then the fixture date will be pushed back again.
Same sh*t different year-JOKE![]()
know a little off topic but when do the squad lists have to be in. Is it before the licensing deadline or sometime after
And Miles To Go Before We Sleep
I think the start of the season should be pushed back and the transfer window allowed to remain open longer. So many clubs are unsure of what division they'll be in that it's impossible to do any proper planning.

well its hardly Harps fault, they were relegated fairly, however because of the incompetence of other clubs they may end up back in the premier with an amatuer team. The FAI should speed this process up and make it clear who will be in the premier, to make it an even starting point for everyone. Its hardly going to be fair promoting harps AFTER the transfer window is closed.
Dont see any reason to extend the start of the season though, its been a pretty long close season as it is. Most team will have started training and arranging friendlies based on the 4th March start date. Also budgets will be based on the real money starting to come in then.
Proper planning is nothing to do with it. The best run clubs in the land still won't know for definite which licence they will receive until after the transfer window closes. We all knows there are some clubs that 'know' which league they will be playing in, but there's probably a half dozen middle ground ones that *could* go either way. It happened Waterford when they were invited into the Premier after compiling a first division squad. Surely it would make a lot more sense to have the licencing sorted before the window closes.

What's the odds on the season opener being Rovers (first league match in Tallaght) against Bohs, with RTE to broadcast live.
Bohs Vs Dundalk is being televised live on the 6th March.
Tallaght wont be ready in time for the season start - the floodlights are only due to be completed on 6th March. And then there will have to be a few weeks trials etc., before a League game can be played there.
Rovers first few 'home' games wll be in Tolka
