    My thoughts too.

The club loses E500k after Liam Carroll's E1m donation. This won't be forthcoming in the future, so there's a loss of E1.5m which is to be covered by cutting back E600k on wages.

    Doesn't add up.

You're off your head if you think 3 clubs paid more than that in wages last year. I know for certain that Pats didn't.

It still beggars the question: Why aren't they being brought to task over blatantly disregarding the salary cap? They broke the rules, pure and simple.

I thought Bohs overall budget was 2.5m this year of which 1m came from Carroll. Figures mentioned of 1.8m playing (wages) budget would seem to be in line with 65% of 2.5m. Without the 1m next season from Carroll they are going to cut 600k from wages & maybe 400k from other areas?

If this proves to be the extent of Bohs worries then I would imagine the fans will be extremely happy.

Still presumably a huge risk its re-arranging deckchairs on the Titanic stuff as Liam Carroll will be going for the jugular as he needs every cent he can get at the minute.

Pat's, Drogs, Cork City, Bohs, Derry had the leagues biggest wage bills last season, in that order. I touched on this briefly on another thread Dodge, but the PFAI are the ones who've put that information out there.

The cut doesn't add up for me either, I know they'll hope to bring in more meaningful European money next season with the CL, but €600k seems to be a drop in the ocean compared to the cut they seem to need.

    Setanta money too of course.

But their 2007 accounts showed interest of E100k. If their overdraft/loan is now up from E1m to E4m, that figure alone has skyrocketed, so they need to cut even more than E1.5m off their budget. Which would basically involve going amateur.

Well as Pete has pointed out, the figures are those that have been returned by the clubs to the FAI and leaked by the PFAI. If any club has made fraudulent reurns then the same terrible fate will befall them as happened to Rovers a few years ago .....err..... a minor point deduction

Have Bohs included the interest that Carroll and the banks will probably be looking for?

Would that not add up to quite a lot of there outgoings next season?

The money for winning the double and the money from the CL will defitnitely help and would be a very tidy sum though.
So if you think Bohs are big read this. http://www.astronomy.ie/perpespective.html

If Deegan goes there will be no transfer fee so nobody would get a cut of anything.

Add in the €400K or so in prize money that they've just won this season plus a minimum of €100K from UEFA for qualifying for the Champions League competition and the potential earnings in the Setanta Sports Cup and you're getting closer to the difference.

Exactly how did they calculate it though. Say, for example, a player has a fixed wage plus appearance fees, goal bonuses, win bonuses etc, the only way to calculate the real figure is to look back at the end of a season. If that's what they've done and that order is actually for the 2007 season then it makes sense.

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

I think that's what he's on about. There was some kind of blip, but it was all sorted promptly afaik.

600k playing budget cut? That's nearly twice what our whole budget is, and even bigger multiple of Bray's I would imagine...

If Murphy goes for £150k then irish football might as well shut up shop - he's worth 10 times that; thing is, he knows it, and won't settle for being a reserve keeper or being undervalued, i reckon. We need the money, but Murph could be the difference that gets us a round further in the CL which would be worth more than what Hibs are offering
