The Descent pt2- I liked the first one, but this one is too much like the original, they keep working the whole claustraphobic vibe and the plot twists are pretty ponderous. Not recommended, but I guess if you saw the first and liked it you'd want to check it out.

Edge of Darkness- Decent revenge flick, Mel Gibson is a Boston cop out to solve his daughter's murder, Mel isn't aging too well, I guess it's the booze. I had just watched The Proposition and then this movie and Danny Huston and Ray Winstone pop up again, strange.

The Daybreakers- a decent(again), dark and stylish horror/vampire flick set in the future, with politcal overtones, nothing "Twighlight" about it.

District 13-Ulitmatum- sequel to District 12, I already forgot most of the movie, so that's how bad I thought it was, watch it with subtitles if you rent it and don't speak French, because it's probably the worst dubbed movie I've ever seen.

The one thing that always stuck in my mind about the movie was the little Paraguayan boy who purposely looks up through the gate and at Peck, then later in the film the same look but very different - thank to Mengele.
great flick, pretty chilling when the child turns around in the kitchen and you get a good look at one of "them" for the first time!

Iron Man was really good give it 5/5 easily the only drawback i would say was the length of the fight at the end, Didn't do Mickey Rourke justice at all, Also about Shutter Island he wasn't still mad at the end!!! He said would you rather die a good man or live as a monster before they took him away to be lobotomised, so what i got from it was he'd just realised what he'd done and coulsdn't live with himself so he lied so thety'd take him away , neway coul;d be wrong like

Robin Hood was rather off the plot, but fun nonetheless. I had the advantage of going to see it with a friend whose volume control seemed out of whack in the cinema - she asked out loud "This isn't right, who's Robin is Loxley, and Maid Marion was never married, she was a maiden". My Masters thesis was from c. 1200-1500 and I can honestly say the history was way off, but for a good night out it's fun. I love the attempt to grab a bigger audience share with the walking Paddy Irishman, Paddy Scotsman, Paddy Englishman and Paddy Welshman gag!

Saw Four Lions with my sister on Monday, very good movie, slow in a way, odd, but very funny. One of the best lines is: Was he a martyr or a f@@king jalfrezi? Also there's one tiny line, when they're slagging off the decadent west, and one of the characters, off camera, says "f''k them baby bells". 6/10

Julia Roberts is supposed to be a lookalike playing Julia Roberts who bumps into Willis, the "real" Roberts knows Willis.

Really? I thought it was passable at best. Nothing to especially recommend about it at all.
Ben Kingsley and Albert Molina were both wasted. Kingsley must be on speed dial whenever a role calls for someone who looks looks vaguely middle-eastern and can speak with an English accent. Molina is basically playing some dodgy east end car dealer, only with ostriches instead of cars. Gyllenhaal was decent in the lead, but his stunts clearly weren't done by him, and that ruined some of the more impressive ones for me. Arterton is decent eye candy but that's all she is.

checked out The Losers earlier. enjoyable enough romp, solid 4/5 film
sets the standard early for the summer of team-based action films - The A-Team, The Expendables, and Predators (sort of)
probably a bit of counter programming involved in it coming out the same week as sex and the city 2

9/10 -Watched "The Pledge" again last night,Jack Nicholson was his usual brilliant self as a cop who's retiring but on the night of his retirement "do" he goes out to the scene of the murder of an 8 year old girl.He ends up breaking the awful news to the parents and the mother of the dead girl makes Nicholson's character pledge to find the killer.Nicholson still has to retire but takes up the hunt for the killer in his own time.

Good support from Benicio Del Toro (too brief) and Robin Wright Penn, directed by Sean Penn, the ending stops me giving it 10/10.
