Pats seem to be close to signing John Murphy from Chester City.

Rumours are we've agreed a fee. Just waiting on personal terms to be met now.

Rumours are that Sporting have signed Frost and Haverty from Pats with Ferguson from Rovers in tow. We just can't go up now. Can't compete with that.

With a left-back, a slightly better than average centre-half and a promising kid who'll get eaten alive in the First Division? I wouldn't worry about it too much.

It's not just Fingal's strengthening that's the cause of you not getting promoted, losing to Monaghan doesn't help either.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

You obviously haven't seen much of Haverty yet so.

Ferguson's an excellent signing for Fingal. Not many defenders as good as him in the First Division. Is it a loan or a permanent deal?
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Striker John Murphy completed a medical with St Patrick's Athletic last night, however, Joseph Ndo's loan move from Inchicore collapsed, WRITE DANIEL McDONNELL AND NEIL AHERN.

Shamrock Rovers had looked certain to capture the Cameroon midfielder until the end of the season, however, the move fell through at the eleventh hour last night although there are hopes that the deal may be resurrected ahead of tonight's deadline.

Three players did leave Inchicore yesterday as Sporting Fingal snapped up Brendan Clarke, Noel Haverty and John Frost on loan for the rest of this campaign. Rumours surfaced yesterday that Gary O'Neill could also be on his way out of Inchicore to join Bohemians, but while he has rejected the offer of a new contract with the Saints, they will not let him go anywhere until the end of the year.

Rovers have sent Dessie Baker on loan to Dundalk, while boss Pat Scully has refused to let Stephen Rice join Fingal on loan.

The transfer window closes at midnight tonight with Bohemians set to sign Brendan McGill while defender Regi Nooitmeer is likely to link up with Drogheda after his release from Galway. Tribesmen boss Jeff Kenna is hoping to bring in two players -- one of whom is a Danish striker.

Just on loan. He's a class above the First Division.

No Rice for us anyway. That would of made it the perfect set of signings but i'm happy enough with what we seem to have gotten.

No doubt about that in my opinion. Was it that Scully wouldn't let him go to a Premier club or was Fingal his best offer?.

He's starting a Masters course in NUIG which is costing him a fair bit to do. He cant commit to training with Longford however many nights a week as the course will take up a lot of time.
