The good news is FIFA are rowing back on this tickets for fans lark to stop people like me doing what I'm doing for this weekend.

400,000 tickets for South Africa will go to FIFA approved Travel Agents to run packages. This was the way it used to be done up until 1998. It was stopped because the Travel Agents fleeced the fans.

In reality this is a sly way to increase the corporate ticket allocation. These packages will be privced well out of the reach of your average fan.

Just got off the phone to a friend of mine who has no interest in football. He's been telling me he has been doing steward at all the games in Klagenfurt and just got a call to do the Turkey Croatia game tomorrow in Vienna. The local Job Center here set him up with it.

Makes me laugh everyone looking for tickets and gets in to see and has no interest. He offered me the number of the company to see If it's possible if I can work at the games. Have to work and I'm going to the Spain Italy game on Sunday anyway

Here's the number if anyone wants to chance their arm

    0043 316 708831

I've no idea if it's the Job Center or a Private Company

I was getting off the U Bahn yesterday and there was loads of people selling tickets for the game. I think you will get tickets at face value maybe even cheaper.

I surprised by the amount of empty seats in the Italian end at least 500. The Spanish End was less about 100.

I reckon it is worth getting there early and shop around

Loads of tickets outside Turkey v Croatia. A mate paid 50 euro for a 110 euro ticket but reckoned he could have got it for 20 if he'd waited a few more minutes.

Neither Spain nor Italy sold their full allocation for the quarter final. I reckon the number of empty seats in the Italian end was over 1,000. Again loads of tickets outside at less than face value. The spanish fans had loads and seemed to be looking for face value. The Italians were trying to tout theirs but without success.

Was that you we saw in the Irish jersey among the Spanish fans ?
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

Not me. There were quite a few Irish jerseys there. I was in a Limerick shirt.
Saw a Bohs fan and a couple of Rovers fans too.

Can anyone who's been to a knockout match answer this question for me,

Do the tickets say Match 29, Winner Group A v Runner Up Group B,

Or do they actually have the team names on (eg Italy v Spain) - I'm guessing it's the first option as I dont think they'd have the means to mass print the tickets 2-3 days ahead of the fixture, but if anyone could confirm it that would be great.

I was at Match 28 and it had Winner Group D Vs Runner Up Group C. As I said when I seen the people selling tickets some of the tickets had flags on them.
So there could be two types.

2 types. Saw both last weekend. The ones sold in the ballot i nadvance have winner A v runner up B etc. Ditto for anybody with a follow my team who got their tickets before their opponents were known - eg in Japan I had Ireland follow my team and I got my tickets the day after we beat Saudi. My ticket had winner v runner up but those that waited until Spain were confirmed as our opponents had spain v ireland on their tickets.
