Congrats indeed to Athenry who are the best side in the league.

No mention though of the disgraceful scenes that saw SIX players sent off yesterday. Four from West and two(plus the linesman) from Athenry. Hardly covered themselves in glory there.
Match was abandoned with a few minutes on the clock as West had a player injured from a bad tackle and had no more subs to bring on.
As a neutral, no matter who started what and how it came to pass, both clubs should be ashamed of themselves and hopefully will be handed hefty fines by the Galway FA.
And let no one come on here blaming the ref, he's the best(albeit of a not too good bunch) in town and I've seen enough of his games to know he is an impartial judge.

Rant over. Renmore and Colga will have to play off to see who will be the 2nd team to be relegated following Dynamo Blues win over Colga.

West utd should be ashamed of themselves, they brought the game to a new low in the disgraceful way they conducted themselves. Im not going to name players here but level of abuse directed at the ref from west players was unbelievable, no body should hav to put up with that as well as the attacks that were being directed at athenry players, i know athenry responded to this but what was being inflicted on athenry by west was the worst ive ever seen, no wonder west had 4 sent off.

Well done to athenry who are by far , the best side in galway, and have been for a few years now!!!

Al west have lost 7 league games in 2 yrs, yesterdays official has been in charge of every one of them,no coincidence i don't think,he was also in charge of there midweek michael byrne cup defeat to mervue and by all accounts was dreadful again,i think yesterday was a build up of frustration from all the injustices they've been on the end of in the last 2 yrs from his officiating, enough is enough,he's ruined our season 2yrs in a row,3 of the 4 west players that were dismissed yesterday were not regulars and 2 of them only togged out so that we could field,as we had a crippling injury list, missing no less than 6 of last weeks team who went out to athenry on peno's.the tone for this game was set last weekend when an athenry supporter struck a west player during a melee on the athenry sideline, this action went unpunished, even though yesterdays ref who was doing line on this occasion acknowledged he seen the incident but failed to report it to the ref,had it been the other way around and a west supporter had done likewise, the game would of been abandoned, another reason for yesterdays game getting so out of hand is the west manager was not there as he was away and he would of nipped it in the bud straight away as he was fierce proud of the clubs great disciplinary record this year only to see it shot to pieces yesterday, both teams were at it and as bad as each other, also athenry who are the best team in galway and deserving champions got the rub of the green yesterday again from the official, the first goal was clearly offside and the 2nd a dubious peno, but hey what did we really expect from him anyway, congrats to athenry and hopefully ye will do the double next week.
if u got no socks,u can't pull them up!

Mate, I can only go on what I've seen and people I've talked to say he's the best in the league.
I have great admiration for west, but I'm afraid sometimes ye can't see the wood from the trees. It doesn't matter who was playing or why they were playing, four were sent off and four more were booked. That's an embarassment, and justifying it because of conspiracy theories regarding a ref is wrong.
Given the amount of abuse I've seen dished out to refs this year from sidelines, its no surprise that the Premier League is stuck with the old guard of refs. 4 or 5 of whom wont be doing it for much longer id say. Who'll take over then?
