Just checked there on Sportsfile, Bray wore an all-navy kit. Ramblers had all-white away to Drogheda while Galway wore their home against Pat's

Does it cost less if you throw a recyclable material?

Agreed, but for one thing. One more party was at fault here: the referee, Buttimer, who has caused a number of similar problems in the past for kit clashes which have people generally scratching their heads. The FAI needs to do something here, either by spotting these potential problems in advance and pressing the clubs to be ready (the fines might sort it out in the long run, but every incident like this is a PR disaster for the league), or by changing the rules so Buttimer can't cause a fuss over nothing again.
You can't spell failure without FAI

I agree Buttimer is the main culprit BUT that doens't let the others off the hook. I remember one ref a couple of years ago was disiplined but nobody found out until months after the event. These things have to transparent IMO

Don't forget that pats weren't sanctioned for 7 subs in that game following a further submission by Pats and Buttimer. So he either sanctioned 7 subs, or lied...

Bohs threw a few cans on too, is that same price as bottles? They were Heineken...in case that matters

Sligo Rovers were involved in another Clash-of-Colours controversy last night during their game against Bohs. The Bohs players yellow jerseys were exactly the same colour as the Bibs worn by the Sligo Rovers stewards who were standing along the touchline in front of the Bohs fans. the stewards were forced to change into their second kit - a deeper shade of orange - shortly after kick-off. Thankfully Mr. Buttimer was not the referee on duty so a a half hour delay in the match was avoided.

And what about the Mr. Motivator? Did he have to change out out of his yellow leotard??

I'd say Buttimer was raging last night when Bray turned up with an all navy third strip and he couldn't find any clash of colours whatsoever

He did however find something to be pedantic about. When Tadg Purcell was coming on as a sub he was wearing black leggings under his shorts. Buttimer made him take the leggings off before coming on. Purcell had to strip to his underwear on the side of the pitch before being let play.

I wonder why Buttimer didn't ask Bray sub Onwubiko to paint his legs white before coming on considering his legs were every bit as black as Purcell's leggings.

Presumably because Buttimer didn't realise that black and navy don't go!

The ref has jurisdiction on everything the player wears, e.g. jewelery, tape on socks, face masks, etc. Every player is supposed to be inspected but for practical purposes that rule just gets a cursory nod with substitutes' studs.

Matt Gregg had to wear Harps' keeper's jersey on Friday night. Missed a good bit of teh warm up sorting the matter out. This despite that we usually travel with four keeper's jerseys, and that RTÉ were saying that the outfield jerseys were virtually indistinguishable on the telly.

If it weren't for the fact that we're obviously much better run under the FAI, I'd be beginning to seriously wonder about the sanity of officials in this league.

yes there are - in the Laws of the Game it states under Law 4 - Player's Equipment:

    Basic Equipment
The basic compulsory equipment of a player comprises the following separate items:
    • a jersey or shirt – if undergarments are worn, the colour of the sleeve should be the same main colour as the sleeve of the jersey or shirt.
    • shorts – if undershorts are worn, they are of the same main colour as the shorts
    • socks
    • shinguards
