didnt know teams could get team of the month
no offence to rhine but scoring 6 and 7 goals against other b teams shouldnt constitute gettin the award, newtown prob deserved their cup runs.
as for the weekend d say the weather is gonna spoil the games if they even go ahead

Ya have to agree with you Avenue.Like surely newmarkets unbeaten run of about ten games or Avenues unbeaten run of five would be enough for a team of the month award. Would probably rule newtown out seeing as they have suffered three defeats on the bounce but their cup form was a credit to the league. So what is the criteria for winning the award? Is it two wins or ten? And is it decided by delegates who probably havent seen Rhine play this year apart from Avenue when they were beaten well.

    newtown for their cup run
avenue/newmarket for staying unbeaten, or even rock for knocking newtown out of the cup
Probably the manner of the victories...
They did beat Newmarket B 8-2....

All vaild points with regard to the team of the month. To be fair to the Rhine lads they do deserve the award for the season they have had so far and although avenue and newmarket are flyin it they'll be in the shake up for major awards at the end of the season anyway. I'm a bit suprised our b team didnt get a mention(Corofin) as they beat the premier league champs in their own back yard in the cup and are unbeaten the whole month.

Rhine deserve credit for a great league run fair play to them and its great to see the smaller clubs getting something for a change.

But surely the award should go to Newtown - the only club flying the clare flag in munster. The aim of the clare league should be for clare clubs to make their mark in munster/fai - thats where the real standard of clare club football is judged.
The quality of Rhines opposition can only be judged by the fact that they are in the bottom division of a league that makes no impression in national & munster junior club cups. Its obvious from the success in the Oscar Traynor competition that there are individual players in the county up to the standard but not any one club squad.

If you are going to go on performances in Clare then Newmarket have had a great run and went top of the league which on current form makes them the best in the county.

True - Newmarket deserve the award as its their first time on top of the premier league in Clare since the late 1990s id say!!

    "Bitter"

Not in the slightest. Let them have their time in the limelight. They have waited long enough for it! Normality will be resumed soon enough ie. avenue back on top

dont think rhine should have got team of the month really.there was better canditates out there.

its a lot easier to stay unbeaten and score lots of goals in the third division than it is the premier

they are still the only unbeaten team in the clare league and this is a great achivement for any team no matter what division they are in,, don't forget the mighty avenue started of in the lower divisions not so long ago and quickly worked there way up the leagues in a short few years.. will also add yes there are other teams out their also worthy of winning this award would be very intrested to know what is needed to win this monthly award & who actually makes decision on who wins it.... don't forget there are other leagues & teams outside of the preimer league and they are entiltled to to win these awards bottom line is any club out there would rather win their own league than these awrds at the end of the day

does anyone know if this is allowed??..surely you can't just change the name of your club like this in the middle of the season..
does this mean kilmaley united are no more????
which means kilmaley fern CELTIC should now be in the 3rd division???
I think that everyone involved in Football in Clare accepts the fact that Fern Celtic were the Schoolboy section of Kilmaley United. I don't know why the Schoolboys and Junior teams were called differant names, could be something to do with administration. I do know that one of the many guiding hands at Fern Celtic is Timmy Healy, a very staunch Kilmaley man for quite a few years now and the son of Mr. Kilmaley United Frank.
I don't know the ruling on teams changing their name during the season but your comment that Kilmaley Fern Celtic should now be in the 3rd Division is a bit far fetched. I know your reasoning behind the statement i.e. Kilmaley Fern Celtic are now a new club and should therefore start at the lowest division in the League but Corofin Harps didn't drop a couple of divisions when they changed their name a few seasons ago and though that is a recent memory I am sure that other teams have changed their names over the course of their existance if you go back far enough.
Anyone involved in Schoolboy Football (shelbourne) will acknowledge the fact that Fern Celtic have made huge strides forward in the Schoolboy section both on the field and off it and any of that success which can be harnessed to Kilmaley United can only be good for both Kilmaley and Football in general.

    Cup the weekend,

    Prediction time.

    TULLA UTD V LIFFORD A ( Away win )
RINEANNA ROVERS V NEWMARKET CELTIC A ( Home win after AET )
    BUNRATTY A V AVENUE UTD A ( Home win )
MOUNTSHANNON CELTIC V MOHER CELTIC A ( Home win after AET )
    TURNPIKE ROVERS V HERMITAGE A ( Away win )
ROCK ROVERS V SHANNON OLYMPIC A ( Home win )
    NEWTOWN B V COROFIN HARPS B ( Away win )
COROFIN HARPS A V KILRUSH RANGERS ( Home win )

Predicting 3 away wins, at this stage of the competition I think home advantage is a big factor. 6 premier teams left in the last 16 with at least 2 falling this round.

Quarter finals after this and most if not all teams through after the weekend will be confident of going all the way.

Anything is possible especially in the cup.

Can't understand bunratty's poor league position but they have the ability to beat any team on the day.

I don't think any team would fancy going to Rineanna, even Moher have a tough game in Mountshannon.

When it comes to the cup i think that you can't write off any team especially the ones at home.

    Bit of Sense

Wats going to happen is that rineanna will lose home advantage because of bad weather.Agree that home advantage will be a major factor but i cant see the rats pullin a win out of the hat.waynes world says that they can beat anyone on their day but the only time they have managed that is against newtown.
