Talking non stop fun an games un in norrieland

Well we made it to the quaters of the Aoh,not without a little fright from Kanturk though. They took the lead in the very first minute. We then missed 2 penaltys in the first half alone before we scored the equaliser. It was mostly one way traffic to be honest through out the game .Brian O'Sullivan was superb an back to his best an Brian 'BB' Barry is also proving an excellent addition.Top player.

The goals came from Brian Sullivan,Harry(2)Danny Dunne an who else Jp to net his 22nd in 16 games. Our place was in great nic an the lads really appriciate bein back playin on grass.Glenthorn in the league next Saturday so it will be a great oppertuinity to try to get some points on the board. No doubt Glenthorn will have other plans though.

    Towlie what happened.
    Bella.
Tizz/Bog did ye watch the Leeside Bally game.
The Villa are back with a bang,6/0 an blown up with 25 left.

    goals

didnt get to the leeside bally game myself and havent heard any reports, looks like a tight affair tho and always gonna be only a goal between em, gonna be the same for most of the big clashes this year i reckon, a single goal could be enuf to win it ! glad to see kanturk made some effort to keep ye out littleman but i was never in fear of ye losing out, like you said- too many good players and ye havent let yerselves down this year, very consistent, could be ominous for the rest of us. bally with a big result which moves them up to 3rd, with only 3 games played, we're up against it on sat i think, will need big performances from everyone to give ourselves a shot, especially after a w/e off

good w/e for the boating tho, so we're all nice n refreshed for next week, lets hope not too relaxed though, we need to give the biggest performance yet if we want to beat a very good and in form bally team

very impressed with the villa result, 6-0 in 65 minutes is good by anyone's standards, are they after getting a whole new team in or what, good to see justice prevailed after the crap that ballintotis gave em last week with the state of their pitch

this w/e sees 4 league fixtures in what will be the biggest number of league games played in the prem this year (4 fcukin games !!) could be a good kickabout (literally) between villa and coachford out in the stix but tie of the w/e is surely at the seaside and again- a game we cant really afford to lose, there's an awful lot swingin on our season with this game on saturday, i'm too nervous to call it

grattan and leeside cant afford to drop any more points but on current form i'm def not gonna back against either of em ! villa to beat coachford and park to humble kanturk
what happened on sat rise/disco ?? big win for park......
any match report from pfizer park rebel/towlie ?? tuff result makes it a bit harder in the league due to points already lost- still not out of it by a long way tho

things warming up at last, clocks going forward in 4 weeks so get out the mouldies and muscle rub, we're 7 months into the season and only a third of the way thru the league fixtures (32 out of 90 games played), its gonna be a football extravaganza for the next couple a months, may the best (seaside ) team win.... gotta be biased bhoys

anyone spot any improvements in the aul yet or any sniff of a 5 year plan ?? maybe next year ....... again

    What a weekend

Tizz I dont know if I'd fancy the sailing this weather.Bit of a land lover me,I dont mind visitin the family down your direction or the odd round down in Ringenane.Thats about it for me.

Bally got a good result considering who they were playing. My humble honest opinion is that ye will beat them. They are a very good side but inexperienced.Ye know how much is at stake an its not just the Aoh either.Ye still have 2 league games to face each other in.I wouldnt fancy havin to play a side 2 more times if they might have beat ye 2 times already. You know what I'm on about.

Last season we won 13, drew 4 an lost 1 in the league an I dont think thats going to happen as theres a bit more competition their this season.

I was talking to a guy who was at the Villa game on Sat, Ballintotis turned up and started with 7 players and the 8th player turned up just a kick off, 4 more players turned up about 15-20 mins into the game ( Villa 2 up at this stage ). The 4 players then went on and the game carried on for about 5 mins before the ref clicked. Told Ballintotis to take off one and no sooner did he leave the pitch Villa scored again. I mean to turn up to the last 16 of the AOH cup with only 7 players to start with is just not taking the competion seriously.

Does this bring back the question of Premier and Premier A teams coming in at the 3rd or 4th round, when the so called weaker teams have been weeded out. The other side to it is the lower league clubs can get a good cup run in it a that can influence the rest of their season .

Same old story for Leeside here im afraid, not clinical enough in front of goal.
Bally are a good side but I dont think they're as good as Grattan or Kinsale.
This was a physical encounter to say the least(1 red for Bally late on) with plenty
    of chances for both sides.
Ballys goal was a powerful header from a setpiece.Things dont seem to be going
Leesides way at the moment but hopefully our luck will change soon.

Bad day for us, credit to park though, a well organised outfit. We gifted them three goals with some poor defending by the team as a whole.

Hopefully that was a once off. Rare that we're beaten by more than the odd goal. Back to the promotion chase now.

    My semi-finalists:
Leeside - Blarney St could be a banana skin but I'd fancy the home side
Grattan - Ballyvolane had a good result last week but away to AUL champs on a roll - I think not
Winner of Kinsale Ballypheane game to beat Villa and go through to semi (and yes I am sitting on the fence for that on as I think it is too close to call the Kinsale v Bally game)
Park to beat Dillons Cross, another close one but Park's away win over a good Wilton side is an impressive result.

    Foot.ie! 5 year plan

Good article on the echo tonight outlining the AUL's 5 year plan. Some good points. Interesting to see if teams will join up to pool resources.
    Grattan and Villa?
    Kinsale and Inishvilla?
    Ballyphehane and Greenmount?
    Glenthorn and Ballyvolane?

    Is this what they mean?

I figure there'll be plenty of opinion floating around once we've all had a chance to digest the ideas...

    Cashmans betting

    5/4 Kinsale
    6/4 Ballyphehane Celtic
    5/2 Grattan Utd
    10 Park Utd
    14 Leeside
    16 Coachford
    50 Villa Utd
    50 Castleview
    50 Glenthorn Celtic
    100 Kanturk

You wont get a better price on Grattan than this, get on them now.

I'll be keeping onto my money for a while pass!! Though i will agree its a very generous price for grattan. Granted ye're 4 points behind but we've only three games played for crying out loud!! There's still a long way to go...i wouldnt read too much into it but if your confident go with it!!

Saw that bit in the echo last nite... dunno what to make of it to be honest. Perhaps it's a little skeptical of me but i hope it's not just 'lip service' as the article says and that they league actually reviews progress every year with the clubs. Do they just give ultimatums to teams and expect them to upgrade their facilities on their own or will they help them along with advice etc... I'd like to find out more... I think we said it in another thread little man that what we got for winning the league in recent years was no more than a trophy.. While clubs strive to improve so hopefully will the AUL.

As for amalgamation of teams ,you may of pointed out a few likely ones shilts. How about a Kinsale/Grattan combo tho fellas- we can call them Krattan. A long commute for the grattan boys but sure if Robbie savage can do it ye can. There'd be no stopping us!

Not a bad idea bog Kinsale lads play all the home games at the seaside while Grattan play all the away games in the city & county

Got the echo and read the article... I was tempted to say that I'm none the wiser, but no there were some points there...
I don't think you can exactly kick teams out or stuff like that but definitely the conditions for promotion is a good idea...
Referees... Now that could force clubs to amalgamate as small clubs with one team would never find a volunteer to be a ref!!!
Must read it again to check the other points.
BUT it did say the agreement between AUL and MSL would be reviewed yearly!!!
