    Talking

Ha! Ha! Easy on? You are the one thinking up this nonsense, unfortunately it has to be responded to as it is complete nonsense, if you think that I am going to allow you to talk of the top of your head without debate think again, at least back up what you say

The WI may give "direct" to the ML, but is it of greater value in monetary terms than what the CCH give to the superleague teams?

The WI would get most of their money back from what you spend at ML functions anyway.

I am sure that the CCH would be glad to hold the awards in their hotel if asked

As I said before, if there was no match on the next day the team would have stayed, they were right to go home we have nothing to be ashamed of.

The ML could have organised this function in the weeks prior to this when there was hardly any football being played, but this is beyond their capabilities

On the subject of sponsorship, who are our main sponsors? The Castlecourt Hotel owned by the Corcoran family they also sponsor the Westport GAA Team, another one of their businesses sponsors the Westport Rugby Team, and Ballyheane Soccer Club.

[So they sponsor 2 Superleague Teams along with the others, and they are not doing enough? get your facts right

Their Hotel also has a pool (unlike any of yours) and it is a place you go to and take a jump for yourself…[/QUOTE]
is this debate still going on??
    the Corcoran family they also sponsor the Ballyheane Soccer Club.since when?? and now you have a swimming pool;
Its better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it

And, by the ways, thanks to everybody that contributed towards the recent Flag Day collection which was very successful by all accounts.

Corcoran Concrete Sponsor Ballyheane, look at their jersey. They have a concrete mixing plant located nearby to their pitch.

We have six swimming pools in total in Westport.

The party for Mozmir last Friday night was great. Spectacular disco, great speech and a wonderful presentation to the player.

Just to put this on record and put this annoying issue to bed, the departure from the Mayo AFL dinner dance by Westport United was sanctioned by the MAFL. They were certainly not offended in any way. That successfully closes that chapter!!

The preparation for Sunday was brilliant following the walkover given by Erris United in the final Super League game of the season!!

Not ideal for Dungarvan though, the lads could have done with a runout of some sort, but, in view of the weather conditions it might have been pointless anyway.

What happened. Was it that you played poorly or are Dungaran a good side. Utd have won the Cup already out of season, so lack of games is not helpful but its no excuse, Celtic won yesterday. Utd will be my fav. to lift the Connacht cup after 20 years. Good win for your U-17's on Sat.

The first half hour we were terrible, but make no bones Dungarvan are a good side, they are very fit and if you give them space they will punish you.
Usually the lads would have arranged some challenge games, but as there were fixtures in place, there was games to be played, unfortunately none of them showed up, the lads were caught cold on the day.
I have been told that the Dungarvan committee pulled out all the stops for those who styed overnight and made Westports visit a memorable one in spite of the result, they are a credit to football.

On a lighter note thanks Closing, for the vote of confidence in the Conn cup.

What was the final score in your match? Who were the goalscorers?

I expected Utd to have a real go this year, But the Connacht Cup is still there to be won. What odds for a Celtic Utd final (on opposite sides of the draw). Celtic won 1-0 (John Maughan 77 min.) well deserved what I hear.

Like to set the record straight, First of all there is no concrete mixing plant located near Ballyheane F.C.
Ballyheane are proud to be associated with Corcoran's Concrete. and have been involved with engine Rewind another member of the Corcoran family.Ballyheane are delighted with the return, we have had with The Corcoran Family, and lookforward to continue support in the future.
I do a gree that the Mayo should continue its association with the W.I. as your members here do not have the full facts of that sponsorship.
I can tell you, that the dinner dance bears no cost to the league, I just leave it there.
On a postive note. had your photo of your new grounds image sent to me. Very impressed with the picture.
