Ive said before we can keep on going round in circles about the season tickets but the decision that was made was after a long and drawn out process where a lot of people who had differing views on the subject had their say but ultimately we had to bite the bullet if the club is to move to the next level.

Pa, My Town & Trainee will confirm this.

Gufct im glad you acknowledge that the person was heckling the people asking the questions bizarre and all as it sounded. I can only speak for myself when I say that on the evening of the meeting I had to leave work early, rush home have the dinner, and then battle through rush hour traffic to get to that meeting them got soaked wet on the way home and all I wanted to do was to hear nick and Tony explain the situation instead I had to listen to that person make smart remarks at people who probably had the same problems getting to the meeting that I had. As far as I know he did not ask a question either so I cant understand why he would bother showing up just to heckle people. Everybody who was in the room the last day all want to see Galway united doing well and winning things but the main issue hanging over the club at the moment is the price of season tickets and the lad who asked the questions was entitled to a little bit of respect when asking the questions and he should have been allowed to ask them without being heckled. The floor was open to that person to ask a different question on a different topic if he was frustrated.

Anyway I though the question about the season ticket was answered well by Nick, basically if we want a winning team we have to pay for it. So from what I can see based on what I heard if we are struggling half way through the season Tony will be out the door as Nick knows well that we wont buy the season tickets for 250/300/350 Euro next year if we are down in 9/10/11 place and playing the same rubbish we played this year.

    Did nick say.

did i read it correctly,is there 1 or 2 premiership teams coming next season??i dont care who comes personally as i all i care about is us but if they are coming then shouldnt we be highlighting that fact in our season ticket adds??i suppose we cant if they are not confirmed though and premiership teams only sort out and arrange their pre-season friendlies around March etc.

The one in February will be one of the premiership teams that are knocked out of the FA Cup (i think there are four all Premiership ties) so we wont be able to confirm that until after 6th January and the mid season (race week) one wont be confirmed until mid may.

So one of Aston Villa/Man Utd; Sunderland/Wigan; West Ham/Man City; or Spurs/Reading. The only other Premiership clubs where there might be a surprise is Middlesboro away to Bristol City and Derby at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
So unless it is Spurs, Villa or Man Utd, can't see a huge crowd going up unless the visitors guarantee a full-strength squad. I mean, really, who would get excited about Wigan, with no offence to the Wiganese or whatever they are called!

Now that's funny I was going to say that Arsenal could be in for a bit of a shock but on the other hand I should say nothing

I seem to remember almost 7,000 in the sportsground for the team you forgot Man City , we had a similar crowd for Derby in Terryland and the Hammers have a huge Irish Fanbase as do Reading.

City had Terry Phelan, Alan Kerneghan and Niall Quinn, not to mention the likes of Peter Reid, so it was always going to be a big draw.
I doubt any club has as big a fanbase here as Celtic, but you could have thrown a stone and not hit anyone when their reserves visited this year, and that is my point - you would want a guarantee of at least a few big names to get the crowd up the Dyke Road.
Nonetheless, we'd all be cribbing if there was no glamour games, so well done to the club for at least putting a plan in motion

City have a huge support in Ireland that day in the Sportsground there were people from all over the country at it a bigger crowd than we had for Sunderland.

what advertise the fact that you have to pay for these friendlies in addition to the season ticket?

at least that fact is known from the start this time though.

PS - i reckon reading would easily fill the place with hunt, doyle and long in the team.

Don't forget city now have Daddy Dick and Richard Dunne who would attract the Ole Ole's. Ericsson, Elano, Petrov would also appeal to the great Irish football loving public
Any premiership club would ensure The Barstoolers leave their barstools for the evening.
