does any one know of a genuine reason why so many players left corbally to go to the boro??
Some had mates above in the boro, but when corbally got promoted another raft of them left. Think there's 6 ex-corbally there at the moment.

I think i will have to agree with twinkle toes on this one..But its all depending on where the game is to be played..For example as mentioned above if pike were playing the boro in the pike field there would have been a good chance it would be on as they have a fine pitch up there...But for example with ourselves to be playing balla at portland,u and everyone else knows that it ain't the best pitch in the world for holding water and it was never going to be played but we still had to wait until sunday morning to get the answer we already knew from the night before..All is needed is a bit of common sense really...What do people think on this??
ALso anyone got fixtures for the weekend??To wet out for me to go out and get the star!!!

Only reason Pikes pitch is one of the most playable throughout the years is its under pitch piping that cost an arm and a leg to have installed at the time.

Agree fully with Twinkle Toes' comment. It was on the radio on saturday that the gardai were urging extreme caution on the roads. The LDMC don't seem to realise that people do travel back to limerick for these games due to them working up the country. Now lets say somebody was travelling back to Limerick because the match hadn't been called off and was involved in a car crash and got badly injured or killed. I know its an extreme example but all I'm saying is people must be considered.

they'll have to come to some sort of arrangement on this - theres a few clubs, not just pike, who have spent big money on their pitches over the years and to have all matches called off over a weekend is very unfair to them. The amount of times this has happenend when there hasnt been a spoon full of water on the pike pitch is a joke

They get half fee. There is an arrangement with the fixtures Secretary that if the home teams ring in between 12 and 2pm on a Saturday to declare their pitch unplayable the match will be called off. The away teams ring between 2pm and 4pm to find out if their game is on or not. A reasonable arrangement I would have though and those clubs with good drainage can continue to play without fear of a blanket ban. The problem is that some clubs don't bother their ar$e ringing in and therefore both clubs have to stay in Saturday nite, get up at the dawn on Sunday and pay a referee half a fee for turning up. Ludicrous. I'm no fan of LDMC but it's unfair to blame them for last weekends farce. Clubs need to take responsibility also.

I know 2 seperate clubs that rang the fixtures secretary on Saturday afternoon and declared their pitches unplayable. The reply they got was that he could not call off any games on a Saturday until January. When asked why this was the case he gave no answer. Both games on these pitches were subsequently called off on Sunday morning. A ludicrous situation if you ask me! Just goes to highlight the bureaucracy that exists within the LDMC.
