It would certainly raise the standard. There are about 8 good sides in the Eircom League and about 4 in the Carnegie League. It would certainly help Linfield playing Drogheda/Cork/Derry than playing glorified amateur sides such as Limavady/Armagh/Institute. Lesser teams can drag quality sides down to their level. I fear Linfield are currently being dragged down by the very poor standard of the rest of the league.

While admittedly there has been a distinct upsurge in my consumption of wacky pills (lovely strong batch came in from Pakistan recently) of late, unfortunately they don't quite induce clarity to an extent that allows me to infiltrate my sister's account; she's Kerry, I'm Hoop - clearly our parents were on the wacky pills too.
Apology accepted in advance.![]()
Would love to see Glasgows ugly sisters move to the premiership playing big clubs every week would take its toll on their players and expose how s***e they really are!
criticising DJ after all that hes done at LinfieldNo I think DJ is dragging our standard down with his tactics or lack of.![]()
Sounds like some people are spoilt rotten. DJ was the best manager in he league, that was until E Patterson came along.
Think he is the best that money can buy in the Irish league and that's why he is at Linfield.
If you think someone can do better. Who?
Also think that it has come to a stage that Linfield don't have it all their own way anymore and some people don't like it.
The Englishmen came over in the year 2005
But little did they know that we'd planned a wee surprise
Sir David scored the winner, and Windsor Park went wild
And this is what we sang...

Not true I'm afraid.
We resigned from the Irish league on 13th October 1972 - because we weren't allowed to return to the Brandywell by the Irish League Management Committee (despite the security forces confirming games there presented no risk).
Though you're definitely right that it was a blessing in disguise.....![]()
