Well done Cliftonville. I hope you guys enjoy your trip to Belgium.

I really hope Cliftonville get the exposure that the Linfield fans so clearly want for you in the local media.

Don't we all. Unfortunately this is the intertoto cup though. Would have been better if it was the UEFA cup.

One thing I will say is, the LOI has had it easy against the IL, this year with Cliftonville in it, we will have at least 2 clubs who can play football enter.(the other one is obviously Linfield lol)

Don't think Cliftonville have the squad to really compete in the Setanta tbh. Hopefully I'm wrong but Linfield will be the only CIL team to really do anything.

While on the subject of the Setanta, IMO if we have these 8 players available and ready for the matches we'll win it, Mannus, Murphy, Lindsay, Downey, McAreavey, Kearney, Stewart and Thompson.

Not sure about setanta I'd say we'll do a bit better than Portadown and Dungannon this season, but we need a few more signings to add to the two made so far if we are ever going to make a big impact.

Well this thread is starting to get a bit messy! so I'll do my best to steer it back on topic! the first leg has been confirmed as being away and will be this saturday with K.O at 18.30 BST.

Gent seem like a decent enough team they finished fourth in the Juliper league last season. I notice they have Dominic Foley playing for them up front I take it they signed him after they played Bohs then? what did the Bohs fans make of Gent anyway were you impressed?

Good man SR. Just when it looked like yet another thread was about to be ruined by the political rantings of the usual suspects...

I was impressed with Cliftonville doing the business away from home on Sunday. I think Gent will be too tough an opponent for them, but will be interesting to see how they do in each leg. Iwould hope they'd get at least a draw in one of the games.

DCFCsteve, I would have thought you could tell us all about living in the shadows of big clubs.

Being Linfield, Glentoran, Cork, Drogheda, St Pats, Shamrock Rovers, Bango.......ok got a bit carried away with the last one lol.

    Who- Institute......?!?

BBC NI know a big club when they see one, and they cover it accordingly.

That's all you need to know mucker.....

    Anyway............Well done Cliftonnville
Maybe you should speak to some of your fellow supporters about their experience of their recent visit to Belfast.

Not as big as a certain Belfast club who you have failed to beat in 5 attempts in the last few seasons. Now remind me again, when was your last league title?

No unfortunately not I am spending the summer trying to earn enough money to pay off my debts! Should be a brave few going considering that so many made the trip to Latvia and Gent is a lot closer to home!

I notice that this thread is beginning to read like something off of the Irish League Forums but well at least everyone is wishing Cliftonville good luck, cheers!

1997. But that's what happens when you play in a proper league with proper opponents - not a glorified one-team pub league....

Remind me again - when did you last make it to a 3rd round in Europe...../

Now run along and think of some more hyperbole for how inter-galactically wonderful Linfield allegely are.......

If we're so SMALL and are in your shadow - how do we wind you Linfield fans up so much? Surely its not coz we threaten you? Surely its not coz we've drawn with you 4 out of 5 games. Obviously only a big team would brag about winning once in five attempts?

If we're so inferior stop rising to the bait FFS. It's getting really annoying.
