I don't blame Derry City for that though. I blame that on our local media.

Apart from a few idiots on different forums, I think Derry City supporters are amongst the best and I have no problems with them being successful.

Although those days look numbered now.

We have Belgian side KAA Gent in the next round! the first leg is in Belgium I think, they still haven't confirmed it yet!

They seem like a decent enough side with a fair bit of experience in Europe, didn't Bohs play them a few years back?

Remember the advert they had shortly after the matches with Paris SG? Some Derry City supporter spoke of their great travelling support. What has been happening recently? has all their 4x4's towing their caravans broken down?
Whats with all the Derry City bashing like! they were given a tough time of it by the powers that be when they were in the IL which froced them to switch to the LoI! since then they have for the most part flourished in the EL and I say fair play to them! I could understand people complaining about the coverage they get if they were from Dublin or something but well Derry is the second biggest city in ulster is it not!

As for their European run last year didn't they knock out a team which was a two times winner of the UEFA cup?

Also I was at a Derry city match in Galway at the start of May and was sitting with the Derry City fans (I'd say there was about 200-250 of them) and I thought the atmosphere was great they kept on drumming away a singing right up until the end of the game, they are a credit to the club and the Eircom League!

Their constant digs at the Irish League, their constant putting down of Linfield (despite their inability to beat us) and their intolerance of other peoples views unfortunately seem pretty typical of the average Derry City supporter.

I've seen and heard it all, a Linfield fan lecturing on intolerance..........

Listen, put your rattle back in your pram, win a few matches in Europe (hint the ones 40 years ago don't count anymore), get rid of the remaining sectarian morons and then no doubt you'll get exactly the same coverage as Derry.

And here's on of them people on forums I was talkin about in one of my last posts.

Meanwhile, whilst Derry City have ONE good season in Europe, they feel they have the need to lecture us about success.

Do you want me to talk about when Derry City where in the league or since they have left? Either way Linfield where dominent and Derry City where a yoyo team but with no real sustained worthwhile success. Really sums you up.

Dave, I find it amusing. Derry City won f*ck all in Irish League football, went to LOI and still wins f*ck all, with one or two out of charactor blips when they actually do win something worthwhile. But on the whole, they are just a run of the mill club, with run of the mill success.

They are comparable to Coleraine in so many ways.

You currently have a nationalist support playing against other nationalist supported teams therefore of course there is going to be very little sign of sectarianism. If you came back to the Irish League and faced Linfield, Glentoran, Portadown, Ballymena etc week in week out I'm sure a minority of your support would rear its ugly side from time to time...

Not to mention the surrounding area of good people

Also the Coleraine vs Derry City darby, that would be fun.

I presume you meant 'your' rather than 'you'

Also our society isn't sick. Our society has just suffered thousands of lost lives and hundreds of thousands of hurt.

Something that the Republic had very little of in comparison. I find your attitude sick, by the way you tar everyone in Northern Ireland as sick.

Completely dispicable thing to say. Total ignorance.

Is it? lets put it this way i was never asked my religion in my life untill i went to Belfast a few weeks ago. And i've lived in quite a few countries.

The way people talk about each other, and treat each other, on both sides, is appalling. Obviously Not everyone, but a significant portion nonetheless to suggest society up there is sick. It certainly isnt healthy.

    Anyway............Well done Cliftonnville

Do you not think it is understandable considering the amount of killing and hurt caused in the last 35 years?

It will take quite a while before that will ever be put properly in the past.

Luckily for you, you never lived amongst the carnage, so who the hell are you to judge people who have
