Theres more to this world than just Dublin you know.
Dublin's a big place. There are less than 70,000 people in all of Laois, less again in Cavan. Roscommon is even less again.

Why do people think these places are inherently better than the north of Dublin just because they're not in Dublin? Fans don't come from nowhere.

So will the A Championship be made up mostly of teams in the Leinster Senior League? Will they all be announced at the end of the year? 20 teams is it?

It'll mostly be made up of senior reserve sides. All premier clubs must enter a team and first division clubs are encouraged to do so. I don't think the numbers are entirely settled but apparently it'll be run on a North South split.

According to Genesis, the (total) number of sides entered is supposed be be variable, depending on how many clubs wish to enter - Genesis says between 20 and 30 - so even with every Premier club entering along with maybe 2 or 3 1st Division clubs, there's still plenty of room for new sides.

The regional split will depend on how many teams enter the competition. If only (the minimum) 20 sides enter, then it'd be 2 groups of 10. If more sides take part then the competition can be split into 3 or 4 regional groups.

historically it is a proper distinct region from Dublin -even has its owb language

Fingalian is an extinct language spoken by the people of Fingal, an area to the north of Dublin. It is similar to the Yola language, and the two (both of which became extinct in the mid-1800s) are often referred to as a single language, "Yola and Fingalian".

Fingalian is usually regarded as a dialect of Old English, but it could be a vestige of the Old Norse spoken by the Viking settlers of Fingal.

They want a D1 License. Maybe they are planning on Longford not turning up next season?

Plus, there is an entry fee of €5,000 to take part. This is on top of the €17,000 league fees for being a Premier Club (I think it's €10,000 in the First). As Galway Harps said, all Premier Clubs must enter a team in the 'A' League. So that's an extra €5,000 with all the other costs on top. And all Premier and First Division clubs must have an under-20 team (replacing the under-21 league) next season.

You see, he said that there's only 4 Dublin clubs a young player can join.
The fifth club used only buys in 'galacticos' with its massive finances and when they dried up it made do with the players who couldn't get a place for the UCD U21s, when they had completed their Collingwood Cup duties of course.
