Whats the deal with letting PF go TB? Did he have a 'primadonna' moment or something?
I heard that the B tem beat a very understrength first team 2-1. However, I would not even read into that result. Cam was in Dundalk to see a physio on his troublesome groin recently and he came in as sub on Sunday. A lot of the main players are out and I'm led to believe that P.F was let go by the gaffer. Also heard on the grapevine that the gaffer is going to beef up the squad with a couple of new faces over the next few weeks. Away to Crossmolina in the league on Sunday. Three points will be lovely with an injury crippled squad!!![]()

Fine footballer but questionable attitude. Supposedly was being very unreliable to the squad during pre-season, and the gaffer felt that in the best interests of the squad that P.F. had to be released. It puts P.F. in danger of being left in the footballing wilderness with his constant chopping and changing of clubs and his general application to the clubs he plays for.

he wouldnt have left if the club were interested in coaching their underage properly.the underage is in turmoil no structure in place at all.its a money grabbing organisation.......committee wont listen to the underage managers at all.more will follow him......players included, some underage players talking about going to celtic and glenhest
Can you elaborate on all this?? What other underage managers are thinking of moving on? Will these players really go to other clubs? Aren't some of the committee looking after underage sides? As for your other points, do you suggest that there should be reforms undertaken within the administrative structures of Westport United?

ill answer that one tb.i dont believe any managers will go perhaps one if his sons go which i believe is close.there is a big difference between looking after a team and coaching one.we all know you have the best knowledge of this club tb.so is there a proper structure at underage level ?
what were the results over the weekend?
"People say football is a matter of life or death. I believe its far more important than that."
I don't think you're the first person in the world to say that and definitely not the last. It is very true with that statement. Person A would look after a team, organise training, have two laps as a warmup, pick two teams and throw in a ball for training.
The coach, Person B, would incorporate a warmup that is between unstructured, semi structured and structured with or without a football and may include SAQ. The session would take on exercises concerning different techniques of the game and it could work on aspects of the game like shadow play and set pieces and may finish up with a conditioned or normal game followed by a warmdown. A good coach should log his sessions; organise preparation sheets and session planners and keep a copy of his player's medical sheet. He must have drinks and a first aid kit with him and provide the kids with a diet/stretch sheet.
