I think Bristol City is probably the promotion that would suit us best with 2 players consistently playing and Armstrong coming up.

Id bet money Azaz will be bought over the summer, Leeds a likely place he'll land. Cannon needs another season in the championship so I'd be worried if Utd went up. I don't see Wilder trusting Cannon much in the PL
I agree - Bristol City would be the best because we would get to see if Knight is a PL player. Azaz has been linked with Crystal Palace and I do expect him to be in the PL next season. Cannon get niggling injuries - not good for a striker.

Got a start today. His teammates are going out of their way to try and get him a goal and he's missing some real easy opportunities. Having the premier league 2 next year could be the best thing for him to be able to build back up his confidence. It's shattered at the moment

It feels like Cannon ends up moving club in nearly every transfer window. This time around Preston are trying to loan him from Sheffield United, he did very well there a couple of years ago, easily outshone Parrott at the time.

Sheffield United have been using him out of position on the right but might be bringing in Ogbene to play that position, which would maybe free Cannon to move to a club where he can be confident of getting game time at centre forward.

Another Ireland player for whom you think the next move could determine the rest of his professional career.

Sheffield Utd manager Wilder has admitted that he has been having some conversations with Tom Cannon and says that Cannon agreed that he had "not done enough" to justify his place in the match day squad. (Sheffield Star, 3 Nov). Cannon was omitted from the squad which was well beaten by Derby Co. last Saturday, but starts tonight, away to Coventry. I'm surprised that Cannon has only scored once for the Blades since his move from Leicester in January.

There was a game towards the end of last season where his team mates spent 20 mins solely trying to set him up for a goal and he just couldn't convert. To be honest he should have been dropped months ago, given some time in the reserves to build back his confidence and brought back to the fold. There's a very good player in there but the confidence is clearly shot.

This is going to sound terrible - it isn't meant that way - but I almost never consider him in the context of 'Irish player' or squad options.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!

Based on form I don't think that's a terrible statement. There's less expectation on him than there was on Troy or Ferguson so in many ways he has it easier

He looked good when he looked good though. Outshone Parrott at Preston, and Parrott's now looking a very decent player.

Still a young guy. Has all the physical tools. Ultimately he’s part of a very poor team right now and it’s not a great environment for a young striker. Wouldn’t be giving up on him just yet. Not getting a load of game time this season which probably isn’t helping.
