I think any type of 4 at the back seriously limits what Doherty brings to the table and also reduces the impact of having coleman in the team. I do agree however a front 3 of Johnston ferguson and ogbene could work well in Greece and against the Gibs. We wouldnt need a 10 to unlock the Greeks surely? If so though perhaps Obafemi could be tried in that with freedom to run off Ferguson and not roaming behind him all the time. 3-2-1-3 or is that too radical for even Gibs?

I've read that VP article and some others since and there's one thing that sticks out across all of them. Is it a little unfair to place blame on Cullen or others given kenny is making them believe they can play a game that they just really cant? (And he clearly asked for that in the second half as that's what happened which didnt happen in the excellent 45 mins first half). Cullen and most of the Irish players that played the last day arent able to control the ball, exact pass definition and speed of thought that say France do to play the ball around the box like that. And there's no question it isn't working as many of those players have made mistakes around that area and lost possession that has cost us dearly(10 goals) on several occasions. I really liked how we looked when we played balls over the top the last day, accurate intelligent passing with low percentages of comeback issues.

I'll probably get vilified on the foot.ie (lesser Stephen Kenny) Echo Chamber for suggesting such heresy. Its reminding me of Pinochets chile but I hope I dont get ex-communicated or worse!

What about any of "the back 4 " bit? What warning did I get? Whats the issue with? The pinochet ex-communication thing? If you ban me it proves my point but I'd like to understand why? Can't you undelete the comment or quote it and tell me whats wrong exactly?
