Going back to this, how difficult would a redzone/soccer saturday show be to put together on LOI TV? Games are already all being streamed, just need a decent looking studio and some decent pannelists. Wouldn't hold out much hope given the production of the highlights show and some of the pundits they use who clearly dont watch 90% of the teams in the league.

Great idea that about developing LOI TV.The actual filming by the camera leaves a lot to be desired, which seems to be a common complaint, if this could be improved through some better media technology, I think you would be on to a winner and avoid the main stream services.
The LOI TV highlights show should be available on Youtube. It'll pop up on peoples feed then every week when there is a new show. They can split it out into Premier Division, First Division and Women's League.

A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined.
First Division 2014: 7 first teams and a B team.
Opportunity lost for new clubs to join GLITW.
With the final round of Premier fixtures down for this coming Sunday 6th November, all kick-offs @ 7pm, any chance the FAI could market some promotion to attract fans to these games, maybe offer reduced entrance for adults @ €5 with kids free!
It will be interesting to see the attendances at these games!![]()
The FAI don't set ticket prices. Other than that I think its a bizarre suggestion. Its not like grounds will be empty. Derry and Bohs both at home. Crowds limited by capacity constraints. Why would they cut their gate receipts?
The FAI should be promoting one game this weekend and that's the cup final in Tallaght.
Ucd also will sell out for their match against Rovers.
The final games of the season is surely the worst time to run a ticket promotion across the league :
1) A lot of games have nothing at stake, so won't be great attractions.
2) Those games which do have something at steak will draw a good crowd at full price anyway.
3) A price-pomotion for entry would only make sense if it led to repeat business. No point getting people in for the last game of the season on a promo, when if they like it they'll have to wait 4mths to access another match.
4) Football is about developing a habit of attendance. You do that during the seaosn - not at the very end.
Quick question why the late KO times this Sunday night?
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
To avoid a clash with the Women's FAI Cup Final.
Does anyone think we need to change the name of LOI PD to a brand name, if we look at non top 5 leagues, a selection in two groupings, one bigger leagues, next more closely linked to LOI, all have their own unique name.
Eredivisie (NL) / Primeira Liga (Port) / Superliga (Den) / Super League (Switz) / Allsvenskan (Swe)
A Lyga (Lith) / Virsliga (Lat) Superleague (KOS)
I think it would benefit in the marketing of the league to have a brand name, could still have sponsor in front of it, but not sure what a name could be?
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).
I think of all the things that are wrong with the LoI, the name "Premier Division" is fairly low down the list in fiarness.
Also Primeira Liga and Eredivisie are effectively the same thing just in a different language
How about next season kicks off with a double header in the aviva, Rovers v Bohs and Pats v Shels. Toss of a coin decides who's home game it is and it's 3pm and 5pm Saturday.
Could we fill the aviva for that and launch the season?. No offence to the outside Dublin teams but just trying to make it as easy as possible for the fairweather fans.
But sometimes you get people calling it 'Premier League' instead of Div, almost as annoying as people calling the Prem League in England 'the Premiership' (changed from that 10 years or so).
Agree a lot wrong with LOI, but still think a change of name could market it better, what was that nonsense the FAI commissioned years ago. some daft PR guy came up with a classic line 'Its not as bad as you think'

As mentioned by PS, "Bundesliga" , "Primera Liga" and "Serie A" are all effectively translations of Premier League/Division already - there was the time in the Nineties/millennium when the LoI was known as the National League, but that was hardly a halcyon era either.
Well "Bundesliga" translates more as "State League", similar to Allsvenskan ("All Sweden").
But still, both very traditional names which a marketing company wouldn't dream of coming up with.
I don't know..SSE Airtricity League already has a bit of a ring to it.
