towell isnt technically as good as the others in the rovers side. he got to england on his insane physicality, he was battering the league to death around 14/15. hes what 30 now? that just isnt going to last as you get older, i cant see him adjusting him game much.
Rob Manley signs for Galway United from Bray

Harps sign 21 year old centre half Harry Nicolson from Inverness.
Waterford signed striker Wassim Aouachria in last few days. He was with Charlton under 23's and is French but played underage for Algeria. His surname could be tricky to pronounce!
I'd agree, his energy, work rate and an ability to score from midfield are his strengths to varying degrees. I dont think at 30 that he'd be fading unless a bunck of injuries have added up. From what Iv seen he runs around plenty but doesnt use that energy well. He also was able to break up attacks - if he was 33-34 id put performances down to his age. Maybe he doesnt suit or like the system used, or he is going through the motions as there;d be little doubt that he would think his name should be first on a team sheet.
Read in Longford leader tonight that Joe Doyle has left us due to work commitments. No mention of a club?
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
Bolton Wanderers' bid for Eoin Toal (Derry City, former N. Ireland U-21) has been rejected by his club. (Manchester Evening News, 7 July).
Sorry just coming back to this after the celebrations of our half-time victory. I think you might be looking a bit too deep Nesta. Jd2793 hit the nail on the head for me - Towell just isn't streets ahead of everyone in terms of conditioning like he was in his stint with Dundalk. He only has himself and Dundalk to blame there as they set the tone for the rest of the league which is now fitter, younger and and (arguably) more technical in terms of how teams set up if not in individual technical ability. We played Galway in a friendly recently and they were in better nick than most of our players were in 2014/15 when Towell was strutting his stuff. If I was going to look deeper I think he might have gone too far with the gym work. He's not as lean as he was and maybe it's having an effect on his mobility a bit.
He's still a good option for us and I wouldn't fault his attitude or effort overall. It's probably more hope speaking when I say that I wish he wasn't so happy to be a squad player. His signing made complete sense even if he isn't having the same impact he once did. Now you may know something I don't about his overall happiness but I don't see evidence that he's disruptive or unhappy from my angle. It also wouldn't really bother me if a few of our lads were upset about a lack of game-time to be honest. If that's the case they'll be moved on for players who buy in to being part of a winning team. That's they way it is and the group is strong enough to deal with that.
21 leagues and 25 cups.
Harps in:
Liam McGing - Sydney FC
Robert Jones - Clyde FC
Not that it'll matter much in the long run.
I picked up on that alright. Not sure what the level of the Scottish Championship is but I’d have concerns about his ability to bag a hatful of goals for the remainder of this season. Long said they have been tracking his progress for a long time. Our previous imports from Scotland have worked out well so hopeful this one can be a successful signing too.
I see Bohs have a keeper on trial today, another club with problems between the sticks ......
Irish by birth ,Harps by the grace of god.
