Benteke was a 1 goal in 2 striker at Villa, 1 in 3 at Liverpool, and 1 in 5 at Palace. He's 30, so he's not getting any better, but I'd guess he's being brought in to start. Robinson's scored 5 goals in 32 games for West Brom, 3 of those in the half of those games that were in the Championship. He's just not the goal-scoring threat Benteke is. I'd have thought he'd be more likely to be playing off of Benteke than competing with him, but I don't know what West Brom's typical formation or their striker roster looks like.

He's lost his place to Mbaye Diagne. Safe to say that Robinson is not Premiership quality. Diagne is only on loan until the end of the season and Robinson has another four years on his current contract, so he'll likely play for West Brom next season in the Championship.

Incredible finish from Robinson to put West Brom up 3-1 against ten man Chelsea.

Absolute peach of a strike. Would be great to see him getting regular game time.

Diagne is only at West Brom on loan until the end of this season, so there's a decent chance that Robinson will be the regular starter up front for them next season in the Championship.

That first goal was a belter (goal of the week stuff) and the second a very calm and measured lifted finish.

He only scores against Chelsea though!!

I'd imagine he will go back to being a regular in the Championship next season. He's the closest we have to a premier league standard striker at the moment, seems to be just a shade off that level but always difficult for him this season playing in a struggling team. Still young enough to develop another little bit and maybe get back to the top division later in his 20s and has plenty to offer us also.

Ya I was one advocating for his inclusion, I felt particularly so when mcgoldilocks left because I felt he was the only one in the team who could offer a spark/bring someone in/show a bit of ingenuity but like all the other players(either inconsistent performances or inconsistent in games) he's inconsistent in games and only has one half or less that of a show.

Were you Paul? If you were then you can quote the posts where you advocated it.

I don't think he specified that his advocacy took the form of foot.ie forum posts. Bit harsh on this one I think, tets.

Ah here, I'm one who'll happily kick O'Sheasian reality nonsense around the floor all day on here ( and elsewhere ) but this is harsh.

Let the record show ladies and gentlemen of the jury, he has been doing people's heads in about Robinson since Cardiff v Wales in the friendly match to an extent that his giddiness about that young man is all I remember about that evening at this stage.

That and the fact he befriended a street bum and they had a prolonged heart to heart through the medium of alcohol.

Despite inconsistency, Robinson definitely has PL skills. He's Ireland's best forward. Connolly? Spurs double, peroxide and The Sun.

Of the irish players currently playing in the premier league, was surprised to see that the top premier league scorers were Coleman (20), Clark (15) McCarthy (13)

Why? They have way more PL appearances than the forwards.
