Hogan with his second goal in as many games for Birmingham. He nets an equalizer for them on 24 minutes.

With Connolly spending some time bench-warming at Brighton, should Hogan be in the mix for the Slovakia game, particularly if he scores another couple of goals? I watched the last game and he looked lively - although he tended to be caught offside a lot... and by large margins, but that could be down to a lack of familiarity between him and his team-mates.

Squad could legitimately contain any of McGoldrick, Long, Robinson, Connolly, Maguire, Obafemi, Curtis and Hogan depending on what happens over the next few weeks... McGoldrick (if fit) is the only sure thing I think.

Thought Hogan looked dangerous against Turkey. As his confidence dipped, so did his performances. Playing him out wide won't work either as O'Neill tried and failed but when high on confidence, he's a pretty natural finisher.

The Hulk scores again. Decent finish on the turn as well. Amazing what a change of club can do for a player.

    Has to start vs Slovakia......
That's tongue firmly in cheek, however had Shane Long scored 3 in 3 games in the championship, it wouldn't be an outlandish suggestion. I'm not sure why.

If he keeps this kind of form up for the next month he could be a realistic option off the bench in Bratislava.

Has he lost a few LBs ? He was carrying a few too many there for awhile.

Looks like he's a bit heavy but also legit quick. Good finish. Ireland eligible Lukas Jutkiewicz is a powerful lump...

Also pretty obvious watching the highlights why 16 year old Jude Bellingham is so highly rated

Scored again. An injury time equalizer at home to Wednesday. Is that 3 in 3?

That’s great form! With Longs revival, possible selection dilemma for Mick Mc?

6 goals and 1 assist in 7 leagues game there is pretty impressive.

Really starting to look like the player we were chasing when he was at Brentford. Also looking good when compared to that other forward we've been hoping will come on board, Patrick Bamford: Hogan has 9 goals in 25 appearances this season while Bamford has 12 in 37; but more impressively, Hogan's goals have come in 1028 minutes of league action while it has taken Bamford 2744 minutes to amass his total.

Also, I think there has been unfair criticism of his international career so far, just because he didn't score against Gibraltar. While he has eight caps, he's only played 263 minutes - failing to score in your first three internationals is hardly the end of the world, particularly as he has an assist and also drew Swiss defenders away from McGoldrick, allowing him to score.

May yet be an important stop-gap between Long/McGoldrick and the youngsters coming through
