    20 matches!

How would the Shield work with 11 teams? Groups of 5 and 6? 4 and 4 and 3? Invite in some junior sides?

Clubs have their budgets done based on 27 games and the shield will have zero interest. Time the clubs copped on and spoke with one voice.

If Limerick have legally shown they shouldn't have been denied the chance to apply for a licence, then the clubs piping up about this is irrelevant.

What will likely happen - unfortunately for Limerick fans - is that O'Sullivan will have his licence denied and it'll be back to 10 teams

Most likely, although O'Sullivan would probably go to court again, and would argue that FAI's earlier attempt to not allow Limerick to even apply for a licence is evidence of predjudice or whatever.

    Could get very very messy.

Don't know about that! I'm perfectly happy to build from the ground up with Limerick United rather than continue with POS' circus. I'm sure I'm not alone.

My info is a bit hazy, got it at least third hand.

Supposedly there was some arrangement made between LDSL and Limerick United regarding underage but then the was a fall out of some sort...

    Anyone hear anything about that?
It's little fecking wonder Limerick has not been producing international players when you read this kind of nonsense.

It's an absolute scandal what D1 clubs are having to deal with. Were they consulted on a change to 20 games? Of course not.. If a league was trying to kill off its clubs it couldn't do a better job than the way D1 has been handled recently.

Worse will have to wait for licences to be issued on the 6th February 15 days before the season kicks off ffs!

So it’s ok for rovers and **** the other teams in the 1st division.

I assume some kind of legal barrier must now exist to kicking Shams B out of the First Division right? Why else would they still be trying to accommodate them?

Its very inconvenient on the other 1st Div clubs here who don't know where or who they'll be playing.

The FAI were at fault here.
You can't refuse to let a club apply for a licence & the court showed that.
They should have left all the clubs apply for licences & then give them to the clubs who fulfilled the criteria.
But logical thinking was never an FAI strong point

You can't allow a club entry to a competition & then just throw them out again.
That's against any kind of common justice.
The FAI wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

What happens to season tickets when a club ends up with a 20 game season?

10 home games and selling season tickets for 14/15 home games.

This could get very messy indeed.

Rovers are more in need of a striker than a victim mentality

And bear in mind that I haven't heard a withdrawal of the threat to refuse to play Shams B. So it could yet be an 18 game season!

All 9 clubs wrote to FAI saying they will refuse to play Rovers B. Will Pat O Sullivan agree to do the same?

Refusing to play Rovers B is just daft.

Don't see how. No licenses have been issued yet so therefore Shams B aren't actually in the league yet. Like Limerick and all clubs they are allowed apply for a licence to compete in the league.

In fairness though licenses should be done and dusted before teams even get back into preseason.
