A long shot here, but anyone (TheBoss?) know any info about crowds for League Cup matches way back in the day?
Looking for info on Drogheda 3-0 UCD in 1980 in particular.

Any idea what Drogheda's crowds in general were like back then? I'd imagine a League Cup game against UCD would be below average.
I have no idea to be honest with you, a touch before my time!
For FAI Cup matches, they usually reported the "Gate" (amount taken at the gates), but not the crowd numbers, which would have been notional anyway, given habits such as lifting the child over the turnstile &c. But apart from that, the best you'd get is a throwaway remark such as "before a capacity crowd", "in front of a disappointing attendance" and the like.
