Heard rumours that Kevin Dawson and Philly Hughes are heading to Drogs next season. Not sure how true it is tbh, if Daws was to leave we'd be rightly f***ed though

Sorry to disappoint you but it's not...we've still buckets of money by LOI standards in the bank -albeit another couple of seasons like the one just finished and even we'd struggle.

That'd be two whole buckets then.

shellyriver. Do you remember the Cork game at home? Dillon came on and gave away the ball 3 or 4 times when all that had to be done was to give a simple pass, and distribution is the best part of his game. He's grand when players stand off him but for tackling, marking and heading he's sadly lacking. Ian gave him a good few chances mid season when we had injuries and he was found wanting most of the time. It must be remembered that he didnt even want to sign for us at the start of the season and came back when nothing else happened for him.

That said Id still like to thank him for his service to the club. He has done pretty well overall and has scored some important goals for the club. Goals against Athlone in the Cup, away to Shams and and pitched in with a few at the start of last season come to mind.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

The way I hears it told on the pitch is the least of your worries.

What he'll settle for is what counts - and we'll still have the type of funds left the rest of the league can only dream of - but we'll still maintain prudent conservative budgets for the very reason we've experienced this year with that villiage idiot Kenny .

I think he would have made a great coach with us, but I wasn't really expecting him to be in contention for the main job, deep down I don't think he was either.

Still I was surprised at the speed of the announcement though.

What was it he was on - three year contract? So ye'll be paying out for the last two years. Basically three manager wages next season.

Rolling in cash, so ye are alright.

Building a training ground. Paying off SK. No League prizemoney. No European money. Attendances down.

Loads of funds left, ya right.

Fair, point re Cork game and I had conceded at beginning he had a tendency to give ball away cheaply etc, etc.

Anyways, onwards and upwards. Looking forward to Baraclough signing a creative, hard-tackling midfield, obviously a few at Pats would come to mind.

As for the rest of the t*ats whining on about Dillongate, sad, fevered, minds, I truly pity some of you!

Do you seriously think we'll settle for two years salary with him ? If that was the case then why would he be taking a case against us ? Come on now get real, anyway whether you or others want believe we don't have lots of cash is up to you - but the reality is that we do have it- anyway proof will become clear as we over the next few weeks put together a top class squad , we may have had an expensive set back last season but we're still best placed of all clubs financially, support wise and off field structures- anyone who thinks different is kidding themselves and gooduck to them

If he gets any kind of an offer from England he will be gone. I'd be shocked if someone over didn't pick him up, especially at his age.

I have to agree. He must have gotten attention from someone across the water, and he'll only stay if he's a home bird.

If he does stay I can see him coming to Limerick and it would be great - him and Gaffney upfront? Fantastic stuff, start talking about upper table finishes. But I just don't think it's on the cards.

The only idiots are the ones dishing out 3 year managerial contracts in the League of Ireland.

The laundry services of Dublin will be looking over their shoulders...
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Thats not what was said at your EGM...

And I've no doubt you'll have the highest wage bill next year too.

But you've still gone for a man with no managerial experience who's walked out on your club before. We'll see how it pans out

Silly season starting early in Limerick.

There is no way he will go there. He will be gone to Everton.

could it be possible to put in here or start a new thread showing who has already signed up for each club for next season just to get a rough idea of who is staying where and then who is available? i know there is the transfer thread but perhaps one which shows full squad lists for 2013 as they start to assemble
