doesnt every club start with big numbers and it slowly decreases?

assuming the population of tower is over 3000(according to wykapedia) i would say theres plenty of room for another team.
considering blarneys teams are not exactly overloaded on local players will also help
any boy who grew up in tower would like to play for a tower team rather than the others mentioned

best of luck to all involved with it anyway
a bold move with so many clubs around as you say so only time will tell how they fare out

15000 people in tower and surrounding areas apparently !
Both Blarney teams relegated last season so be a clear out of the non locals either through them leaving or otherwise i'd imagine. Hopefully anyway - you'd like to see the local lads getting a fair crack of the whip.
Best of luck to them as you say but i think a lot of the problems with the aul come from the ease of setting up a team and joining division 3, if each of the other teams in the area lose 2/3 players to the new team them they begin to struggle and could end up disappearing, i think there are plenty teams in Cork without setting up new ones but each to their own.
Strand have taken a long time to get out of Div 3 and if someone did want to join a team then they would be a decent option in Div 2 even for a casual footballer. Wide range of teams in the area for all levels of footballers already without a new team. But i could be all wrong and they might rampage through the divisions yet !!

you always get an outsider on teams i use that word with good intenions friend of friends ect ect no harm there .but new teams ok to but should harder to join aul or ask the team thats there if they have no 2nd or 3rd team can they go in under their badge.best of luck to that team this season .

im not sure would the local lads who were pushed out of blarney be rushing to go back to them
from the lads i know out there they havent a good word to say about the club

also a fresh start at a brand new club is an exciting project would you agree lads?
playing for the badge would take a whole new meaning as you are the club past, present and future?

only time will tell i suppose
could be magic or could go completely the other road

Looking at the AUL divisions tonight, the number of teams is very low. A few divisions with only 9 teams.

Haha - well that last post kills the Freddie = duckdu theory!

Glad you are hanging round boo! Any news on a manager?

We went back tonight to a great mixture. Trench warriors from last year, heroes from previous times, three back from long term injury and some new talent that could quickly become heroes. A few missing to add to the 20 odd! A better start to the summer than last year - that's for sure!!
