Celtic will have to win a league and a few of them before they can be classed as "taking over" Complexman. But they are certainly courting the right players and if they add any of them they will be contenders,Town have an exceptional bunch of youths but you will not get anymore than 2 or 3 to really come through but a few signings and a commitment from the likes of Quinlivan and Town could be a big force next season,it's the silly season so rumours will change from week to week

While I can understand fully why Celtic would try and strengthen their squad I would fear that by bringing in too many 'outsiders' they could undo what seemed to be a fairly tight group. It was great to follow a Clonmel team last season showing that they could compete with the best with local players (origins within that locality another issue!). I think 'Town showed last year that it is very easy to over-do the imports and could undo a lot of good work. But hopefully that's just pessimism and next year Celtic will go on and get some major trophy (and would be great to see 'Town make some ground up and at least close the gap).

I agree about not bringing in too many outsiders but grincell and coady are league of ireland players no junior club in the country would turn down 2 quality players like that. look at the influence kevin waters had at celtic last season , transformed the side. Also another player that would be huge addition to any tsdl club is adam mcsherry who is finished up with waterford united. Should be an interesting summer. Will it be 8 team premier division again?

Celtic are making a big push to get these players in. Kenny O'Shea and Karl Condon are actively trying to get players in and to be fair, they know what way they want their side to line up. They are telling the players who they are trying to sign , where exactly they will play. This is a positive move but of course the flip side of that is, how are you going to keep the existing players happy. Good complaint I suppose

Nothing around Carrick about the two Coady's moving yet, McSharry is tied to Waterford Until the end of this season but is currently out injured for the rest of the season. If Town are getting Richie Kennedy he is expensive but an excellent fittness coach, he will dog the players. He has looked after GAA and Rugby teams in Carrick et al over the last few seasons and has had all of them flying fit.
    Carrick United:
Munster Junior Cup Champions 04,10 & 15, Munster Senior Cup Champions 2011, FAI Juinor Cup Champions 2008
12 x Waterford Premier League Champions

numbers will have to drastically improve from last season if its to be worthwhile bringing in a top fitness coach. No point only having a handfull of lads put in the hard work, it wont win town the top trophies the club expects

wasnt this the rumour last year that both were signing for cahir park. Two big experienced players would complement towns young players coming through the ranks. Any other transfer news Bilko?

Hopefully find out if its 8 or 9 team premier division tuesday night at agm. Cahir and borris will be big losses to the premier league facility wise , two superb pitches but i suppose its the 1st divisions gain.

It is my understanding (I could be wrong), according to the rules of the tsdl, two teams must go up and two must go down i.e. Cahir Park and Borris will go down with Old Bridge and Bansha celtic going up. Nothing can happen at the agm to change that. The only way that can change is if one of the promoted teams decline in writing to go up, like St.Nicholas did last season. I'm told there is a motion to change that to one up and one down but it is my understanding (and again I stress I could be wrong) this rule change, if passed by two thirds majority, cannot take effect until season 2013/2014. In my opinion therefore, whatever way you look at it, the Premier division will be 8 teams next season.

sounds about right nononsense just think its not enough games for premier division teams only having 14 league games in a campaign. Any word on any new teams joining division 4 this year

The Rule change to rule No 2 is worded ' as and from season 2012/13 only division 1 champions will be promoted to be replaced by team finishing last in premier league'
It is at the discrection of the League Committee at the first meeting after AGM to decide the make up of each division, in the passed they have not relegated teams from some divisions to balance out the numbers in others. 8 teams in the premier is to few, with the lower teams finishing football as early as mid Feb, and because Div one has 9 and they have a shield and paddy Purtell to play they are always 1 of the last to finish.

Division 1 is nearly always the best league in tsdl west hammer. Always very competitive, all teams capable of beating each other and a good spread of trophies last season with bridge, bansha and galbally sharing the silverware. Glengoole also had a great year finishing 3rd and a shield final appearance. Should be even better next year with cullen and killenaule, 2 very strong sides promoted.

16 league games and decent chance of winning one of the cup competions, Cahir park and Borris shouldnt lose too much sleep over been relegated. Sounds more attractive than being in relegation battle and season finished mid february

I had not seen the actual wording of the rule change. If it is as quoted, it could have been worded better. One could get the impression from above quote the rule change will come into effect from the start of next season 2012/2013. This cannot happen. Bansha Celtic competed on the assumption if they finished winners or runners-up in the First Division they would be promoted. By rule they are entitled to be promoted - nobody can take that right from them. If carried, the rule change comes into effect at start of season 2013/2014.

The wording of the rule change is correct. It means that teams entering for next season 2012/2013 will be under the new rule if passed. Teams that played during the 2011/2012 season just gone were under the old 2 up - 2 down rule. It is very clear that the rule is for the coming season so that teams starting out will know what will be happening at the end of the 2012/2013 season.
