For a neutral.......is the Douglas Hall v Avondale game worth going to tonight or will Avondale win easy?

Should be well worth going to but Avondale should and will win. They're on a roll and winning ugly and even if they make several changes tonight they still should have too much for Douglas Hall.

Hope it doesn't get over physical and we see some bit of decent football.

They must be playing at the same time. Bit embarrasing for the League to have a match of the week & one team cannot field 11! Whats going on in Passage?

Easy known you haven't a clue what goes on behind the scenes of a football club Goggsy, Schoolboys/girls learn to play all by themselves, the lines and goal posts appear with the growth of grass, money falls from the trees and a bid of good will to your local community is only a myth,

Spot on I didn't want to reply to Goggs last comment as it was only taking the shine off a great achievement for Crosshaven - I know any of the teams around Dougals (Hall, Cors & Tramore) would all be worthy winners of that award for all the hard work & effort they put in behind the scenes. I'm retired & only now starting to appreciate the work that goes into making a club work. When your playing these things don't matter & you think the world revolves around your team.

Passage would have a great team of locals who now play in the premier leage,a good few of them on show tonight in moneygourney.... As for Crosshaven getting their award, people should look into the history of the club and the ongoing work being done down there before judging. I hear Cork City's league winning captain Greg O Halloran has signed for them recently too.

Great effort from Douglas Hall tonight. Worked their socks off against a classy Avondale side. Harsh on Avondale to lose it but Douglas Hall proved that with 11 honest players on the pitch you give yourself half a chance.

Mark O'Sullivan and Conor Meade were superb and caused all sorts of problems but hats off to Douglas Hall defensively for keeping them at bay.

Good game but again have to say not a big crowd at it.

If this was a local GAA game you'd have several hundred at it. There was some outstanding players out on that pitch tonight and they deserve to be playing in front of a bigger audience.

Well to be fair if it was a league game or a proper cup tie people would have got out to watch it. This cup isn't very appealing to the masses I'm afraid.

Steady on lads every club in cork contributes to the community thats the soul purpose of a football club my question is why is Crosshaven singled out for this award instead of any other club what unique qualities does Crosshaven have that say Cobh Carrigtohill Youghal Midleton St Marys etc doesnt have why not give everyone an award what makes Crosshaven so special. Is this like the Special Olympics everyones a winner.

I'm not certain about this but I think their celebrating some anniversary this year. Clubs like Douglas mayfield and Corinthians celebrated 40 years recently but I think Crosshaven are around a lot longer. Perhaps Archie could clarify this?

Always a silly cup when the result goes against the grain...

Their website says 1898 so fair play to them. Avondale are only in existence 40 years this year

It's still a cup final which I'm sure they wanted to get into. There was a few rested last night and with out the likes of caulfield, long and spratty they didn't look the same side. Podges kick outs are a big advantage too. Intermediate cup next week to concentrate on
