no the bits were you said !! "The main thing to report from this game was how bad the ref was. He was absoultly shocking one of the worst refreeing performances I've seen in a long time.

Lifford started well and it looked ominous for Olympic but then in a 15 minute spell they scored 3 goals and Lifford had a man sent off(which came about after he waved away what should have been a free kick to Lifford high up the pitch, the ball was booted up the pitch to the Olympic striker who was offside and ran clear on goal only to be dragged back by the last defender OUTSIDE THE BOX but the ref gave a penalty). Think they did well in the second half and created some chances and got a deserved penalty(which it took a minute for Julian to decide was a penalty, and was heard saying "On second thought, yeah it's a penalty...despite been a clear penalty" fairly unbiased report.......................

That's not been biased. That's just been honest...even after the game a few Olympic lads were saying they thought they were going to be in for a hammering but we just didn't create enough chances in that period, where as when Olympic were on top they created chances and took them which at the end of the day is all that matters, you can have all the possession in the world if you don't put the ball in the net it won't matter. So they did deserve there win, just like they did the other times Lifford played them, including the time Lifford won 4-2 in the league cup.

Julian was also very very poor, there is no denying that. It's not like i said we deserved to win and Olympic had no chances, and are **** and Lifford are great . Just reported on what I thought the game went like. That is what forums are for after all my old friend .

Anyway I'm done talking about it, like I said I hope this spurs Olympic on to a good few wins now and they manage to stay up comfortably. As for Lifford it's cup weekend this weekend so onwards and upwards hopefully and a chance of doing a double.

best way to bounce back from a defeat is to win your next couple of games ,, will agree with you on Julian a poor ref and has been for a long time now..

The past two results will have been considered poor for lifford alright, so like you said only way to bounce back is to win the next game whhich hopefully they will.

lads what is happening to football in clare.. shannoon olympic have already played tulla away in the league.. yet they were told they had to travel to tulla again today as their pitch wasnt playable.. i thought the league was meant to be on a home and away basis not what ever the league decide to do against a club they hate..

Thats very bad form from the Clare League, its not like Tulla absolutely needed to play the game as they had 9 played before today already and some teams only had 5\6 played. Olympic should have refused to go there. What was the result anyway?

Olympics pitch is currently closed due to works in the area by the county council which has blocked access.
I believe they have requested away games for the next few weeks so I'd imagine they were happy enough to play in Tulla again. The question is, now that this precedent has been set, are clubs going to be forced to forfeit home advantage if their pitch is unplayable/unavailable for league games?
Maybe someone from the league might care to clear this up?

Also Dirtfree why do you say the league hate Olympic?

On a bit a an hiatus from football at the moment. How're the leagues going? Don't hear much from where I am in the country! Any contentious issues?

Ennis town rock 1-2 Newmarket Cetic. Decent game today, Stephen Kelly scored a very good goal for the winner from about 25 yards. Any other results from all leagues?

Right lads would like to get yer opinion on what happened bridge united 19's team today. Last Sunday as with every sunday the fixtures were released and the Bridge were down to play Avenue away at 11 o'clock in Lee's road. Both the local press printed it as it was so one would conclude that would be going ahead because thats the norm in the clare league every week. NOT SO.....

......The bridge turned up this morning togged off and warmed-up only to be told be the ref that Avenue were playing Corofin 19's. After doing more enquiring the bridge found out that the ref was told thurs/fri that the fixture was changed and corrofin also got a message that they were playing Avenue (having orginially been down to play Ennis town away at 11) No person from the Bridge was contacted saying that the fixture was changed and again after making a few phone calls the bridge were told that one of their players requested to the league that match be off. Never heard the likes of this procedure happen before, always thought the management would have to contact the club secretary and the secretary would contact the league for a fixture change (and be lucky to get it at such short notice). Would like to make the point that the Bridge were missing no players for this match and that Avenue ( went on to win the match) start the game against Corrofin with 10 players. I dont know bout ye but what happened today suited Avenue down to the ground and a complete injustice to the bridge!!! Why cudnt the 10 players of Avenue play the Bridge.....? Something seriously wrong went down behind the scenes during the week!

You could maybe understand if they asked for no game the weekend if like you said Butcher Avenue were missing a number of players but i dont see how the clare league can explain changing the opposition, its obvious from looking at the table that this is a massive game as both teams along with Ennis town are fighting for the league and the fact that no one from the Bridge was contacted is a disgrace. No player has any power to ask for a match to be changed, ideally you would like both teams to be at full strenght for such a game. I would presume a complaint will be made and it'll be interesting to see what the league have to say on the matter. Then again nothing surprises me with certain individuals on the committee.

what happened to the bridge today is nothing short of a disgrace, but the problem here is that nothing will be done about it, underhand tactics to keep there beloved avenue on top, we couldnt have the likes of bridge united winning the league now could we?? but will leydon be held accountable?? i think not. surely the mighty avenue wouldnt be afraid of a few hurlers from the bridge would they??

last season in the youths, the league decided that all teams would play each other 3 times instead of the norm of home and away fixtures, this was convieniently introduced after the bridge beat avenue away and drew with them at home, so that they could have a 3rd bite of the cherry, excuse the pun...
