McCourt/McGinn were never on the FAI's radar in the first place. They got capped by the only team who were going to cap them at the time. Ferguson does have the choice.

My point is that he must not think he is good enough for us

Fair enough, you're probably right. I'd like to think a large part of it is simply a loyalty/desire to play for the NI, for whatever reason, no matter how idealistic that sounds.

I'm almost certain that McCourt was courted by Mick McCarthy to play for Ireland when he was at Rochdale and ripping it up. He was contacted around the same time that he was attracting Premier League offers. But he chose to stick with Northern Ireland and represented them at under 21 level and eventually senior level.

That's probably a bit unfair. He seems to have been genuinely conflicted so he might just have chosen NI because he wanted to play for them more. Not necessarily settling for second best.

Not something I've ever heard - tbh I find it hard to believe McCourt would reject a call-up if there was one in the offing but fair enough. But it doesn't seem to me McCourt's choices, while playing for Rochdale, would be as open as Ferguson's (playing for Newcastle and in a position we can use options in).

In regards to the Snow Patrol song, possibly the reason why the OWC Forum took issue with it, was because they realise that they will never qualify for a WC again!

Perhaps this wally should be reminded that the IFA went to the CAS (at considerable expense) to bring this matter to a conclusion.

Regarding Shane Ferguson, I wish the lad well in his choice to play for the North.

To be fair to OWB that's always been the case. Hateful & intolerant paranoia is a hard trait to change.

As for SF, he can always change his mind until he gets a full competitive cap.
    So another 10 months then.

I know that Delaney is very happy that the choice is there for Irish nationals in the north, so I'd say he'll dismiss this nonsense. However, if such a ridiculous thing is to be considered in the least, then Ireland fans should have input - this being a Northern Ireland fan-driven incentive that is not mutually beneficial.

Genuine question for Not Brazil here, as someone who appears informed on the whole area of eligibility, do videos such as these make you cringe? And secondly, does this guy from AONISC represent the views of all NI fans or is there at least a small enlightened minority who who disagree?

I know Gary Mac well, and have previously worked with him on various matters pertaining to NI Supporters issues. - I have a lot of time and respect for him, although we would have differences of opinion on some issues. We don't fall out over them.

The video clip above does not make me cringe - I think the concept of developing an agreement on youth players between the two Associations is a fair idea.

I think Gary Mac articulates that case well in the clip.

Gary Mac is the elected Chairman/Spokesman for the AONISC (Amalgamation of Official Northern Ireland Supporters Clubs) - circa 70 SCs are members of the Amalgamation, representing in the region of 3,000 fans.

Obviously, this does not represent the majority of NI fans, many of whom are not affiliated to any SC, or are members of SCs that are not "official".

The AONISC does hold clout with the IFA - regular meetings etc.

With a membership of circa 3,000, it's safe to say that there is not always unanimity across the board on all issues - but, the AONISC will publicly articulate the majority view of it's membership. There is healthy debate amongst their members on key issues, including those that are perhaps more contentious.

A line drawn on a map cuts off circulation apparently.

    I'm not convinced myself.
