McLoughlin is 6ft3. McCarthy is 5ft11. 4 inches in the difference

That'd do it alright. Don't think it helped that the way they're all lined up, all the defenders are quite tall - just made McCarthy look a lot smaller than he actually is! Plus picture was bit too grey to really get his overall gingerness...

My team, Iceland u21´s, with a complete new team easily beat Belgium in their group earlier today.
Shows the benefit of a developing footballing culture that promotes use of intelligence, keeps the ball on the ground and can pass from foot to foot.

It must be painful to watch these young Irish lads still doing it the primitive way with the occasion bright spark like Brady.

Well Iceland have always been globally renowned for their breathless pursuit and application of the beautiful game...

You have higher gag scruples than me. I tend to shoot-on-sight.

Sorry to hear that. The cure for that is an earthy cynicism and Arrested Development.

His name always reminds me of Samson or Rutnipole Dutchboy Gym.

I thought you were going to say the cure is viagra.

Surely viagra would exacerbate his "shooting on sight" problem, would it not?

I take it all these updates are from guys at the match and that there's no viable thread?
