tipp top, ur on the button, they may well have brought the league back from the brink since when it was formed but by god there is some serious favourtism to certain teams in it! and we all know who we are talking about without mentioing names..
Is this the same league that we only found out 3 weeks ago who was relegated from last year? Is this the same league where we don't know how many teams go down this season?

Tipp top you have given me and some work colleagues a laugh and we all support different teams. I think you have to explain we all know the score I myself being a saints man don't entirely agree with this decision but to say saints get favouritism is just laughable and the end of the day a fixture was made both teams were unhappy peake refused so what would you expect saints to do
The best laugh was that the tsdl called off games because of chalky wedding not because of the reaction of playing town/ saints last year it's a case of damned if you do or don't
Rightboy i certainly have no interest in the opinion of someone who's posts have constantly annoyed people, your observation that Saints would have won the league the last few years if they wanted but it wasnt a priority was enough for me,Bilko i think we all know the craic and from talking to players including Saints players everyone has a laugh about it and gets on with it,Balls your normally completely on the ball with your observations and posts but lately you really have talked some rubbish
harsh tipp top my opinion was just that peake should have played the game havent commented on much else in last few weeks. on the day of game i stated they should have played it and yesterday upon hearing saints were awarded the 3 points i commented again that peake should have played it. if thats your opinion of someone speaking rubbish i shall look forward to reading your quality posts in future
if it wasnt for birds and booze id have played for ireland juniors!!!!!
Tipp top I'm not particulary bothered about your opinion either as they make very little sense and as today you make a statement but you don't back it up I think its obvious you have a deep resentment towards saints and also the tsdl and no nonsense and west hammer are right if you go outside the area you realise what a well run league we have we might not agree with all they do but at least have the respect of the men who run the league in their spare time
It is an absolute joke that Saints have been awarded 3 points for the Peake game. It’s unfair on Peake and every other team in the league. They were dead right not to play the game, what they were asked to do was nothing short of a disgrace. No professional team would be asked to do it and no professional team would do it. If the issue had have been with another club other than Saints the 3 points wouldn’t have been given the game would have been played at another date and that is a fact and we all know it. That isn’t Saints fault it’s the leagues but the league always favours Saints.
West Hammer you can’t try and compare something from the 1970s with something from today the world has moved on in every aspect, every league has come on since then in every sport. No league should be judged on how much money it has in its account. What good is having the money if it’s not going to be reinvested in the league. For god’s sake we don’t even have our own ground.
the 250k or whatever it is they have in the bank would not get much of a facility in this day and age. in my opinion its uneccesary to develop a facility when the league have access to cooke pk, cahir pk, borris etc some of the best pitches in the country. unless some sort of top of the range facility was built which would surpass these pitches maybe in conjunction with fai and tipp south schoolboy leagues. where oscar traynor, kennedy cup and underage league represtative teams etc would train and play matches i wouldnt see the point in just buying a pitch for the sake of it.
and anyway if tsdl did have there own facility and had to drastically fundraise to develop it you can guarantee that the few who slate the league for having money in the bank would be on here slating them for spending too much
if it wasnt for birds and booze id have played for ireland juniors!!!!!
Ok Rightboy tell me 1 instance where Saints were given a raw deal by the TSDL? Peake Villa have had 3 points taken,Clonmel Town were asked to play 4 games a week and told it was the price of success yet when Saints had their great run last year they were never asked to do this,Cahir Park were basically finished playing football in January last year other than waiting to play a game every 5 weeks,Celtic had the ridiculous carry on over losing home advantage to Saints last year on technicalities, the list is endless, what grievance have Saints ever had????
I think it's a joke what has gone on over the Peake game but I think I have made my opinion clear on it and won't go over it again. I will take everyone's point on board bar one and that is rightboy. You are a coward of the highest order and should not be let post on this forum, you made a comment last week on this site and when I pointed it out to you how wrong you were and asked you to apologise you didn't. It was a very sensitive matter in which you were way off the mark on and yet you weren't able to do the decent thing and say you were wrong. You ask for people to have respect for the people who run the league, It's a pity you wouldn't show some of it yourself before you go looking for it.
Tip top I asked you for proof not hearsay or your opinion on these matters , obviously I'm not going into what the tsdl and the certain clubs you mentioned as really knows the details but from your post you believe saints are the cause of everything with collusion from the tsdl you probably believe saints are at fault for the hurricane that closed new york down but I will ask you to name the club that had to play it's last deciding league game with it's challenger midweek before a munster junior final yes final
Press/ balls I agree with you I would rather see very little money in bank as long as our rep teams and players are given right resources which sadly has nt been the case
Mega tots your right fixture should never have been made but instead of people looking to blame saint s maybe look at villa / tsdl for blame
" but I will ask you to name the club that had to play it's last deciding league game with it's challenger midweek before a munster junior final yes final "
Steady on Rightboy at least when you are asking questions ask ones you know you will be able to back up. With regard to the above I presume when you say challenger for the deciding game you are talking about clonmel town. I think you will find the league decider was played on a wednesday night a full 10 days after the munster junior final (and before the MJC final they had no game for a week). And this decider was 10 days before an FAI final which i think in anyones mind is more than enough time for all players to recover. So to say Michaels were getting stiffed last year with fixtures too would be wrong I would imagine. At the end of the day Peake had a berievement in the club on the night of the first game (i could be wrong on this) and it is unfair on the players to fix the game again for 2 days later albeit a friday night but still not the easiest night to get to a match with work etc and not really fair on all parties involved to try and ensure a sufficient panel would be available at such short notice no? Surely Peake should have been consulted about the date of the refixture and whether it would be ok for them too? it cant just be refixed because Michaels wanted a game and they are gospel is it?.......I am not disputing anything about the running of the league because the work the committee do is phenomenal at times but the decision to give the 3 points here is totally ridiculous and has reflected badly on both the TSDL and Michaels.
Jug2004 I will tell you full details later and no town were not involved in league decider at the time I'm going back a few years but I can back it up unlike other post who wants to blame saints for everything
Rightboy how could you possibly say Villa are to blame??? I have never blamed saints for what went on. Its the TSDL I blame. I think Saints should show a bit of class and not accept the 3 points though and demand the game be played. They would gain a lot more respect from every club if they done that.
I have to ask what were the technicalities that caused Celtic to lose home advantage last year??
Seriously are ye all nuts half of ye are blaming the league for awarding the game to Saints and then saying thats the end of the matter and 3 or 4 posts later ye are banging on about the same things! MOVE ON! Saints played a match last Sunday away to Wildies with 5 of their regular first team missing! They got on with it won the game end of story. Can someone enlighten me as to why Peake couldnt field a team on the Friday night, i know about the bereavement (R.I.P) which postponed it on the Wednesday. Please dont respond if you dont know the facts about the situation!
I just realised that im after asking people to MOVE ON and now im bringing it all up again!!

Pearso the issue with Peake wasn't that they couldn't field a team. It was that they were expected to play saints on friday night and take to the pitch again 36 hrs later to play Town. These would be regarded as two of the biggest fixtures of the league for any club. Could you imagine Liverpool being told play chelsea on friday and man utd on sunday?? They would have had a team to play and a strong one at that but what they were being asked to do was madness. Also they were only given two days notice for the game which isn't enough as other people have pointed out.
One thing i want to put on record is that nobody has more respect for Saint Michaels than i do,a fantastic club,my issue is with the Tsdl,at the end of the day if the life president of any other club was running the league that club would also reap the rewards, everyone knows what goes on i just can't understand people coming on here pretending it doesn't happen when even the Saints captain has been known to have a good laugh about it
Making comparisons between the TSDL and the Premiership is madness just my opinion!
If that is indeed the case then yeah i would have to agree the League were asking a lot but on the flip side Saints would have had to play the same amount of games in the same amount of time, i know one of them was the John Delaney but it was a cup final and a fairly decent prize on offer!
Is it any wonder the number of contributors and visitors to this forum has decreased. Such stupid arguements.
